Coral Reef Resort & Spa, Havelock

It's a really beautiful hotel I loved my stay here the staff are wonderful and the vibe is really relaxed. I was a little tired towards the end of always being told "we don't have that drink/that food/the chef isn't working", and the rooms can be a little noisy but aside from this would 100% recommend.

Pros - Beautiful beachfront location with lovely views. Plus lots of cute hermit crabs on the beach (we also saw a sea snake late at night, cool but sure it was a rare occasion). - Multiple pools to enjoy and relax by. - Modern, stylish rooms with thoughtful touches like a bath, kettle, and balcony/terrace. Plus the bed is really comfy. - Friendly staff: some went above and beyond to fix issues quickly (special shout-out to the “spicy cheesy fries vs non-spice request” rescue squad!). - Good food overall, with nice variety and pleasant dinner service. ⚖️ Cons / Areas for Improvement - Communication could be clearer: Some requests were only partly fulfilled or misunderstood. - Housekeeping delays: Rooms sometimes not serviced by mid-afternoon; small details (like tea stirrers and robes) were overlooked. Coming back to your room at 3pm without your room made up is not giving 5*. - Special occasions need more care: Our candlelight dinner (for our engagement!) was almost cancelled due to rain concerns and miscommunicationm. Even though my partner cancelled the candlelit dinner on the Monday, they put the decorations up anyway. Then they took them down the next day on the Tuesday. Then it rained in the afternoon. It stopped for a bit around 5pm. Despite the fact the weather was set to be clear in the evening, reception called us 90 minutes before the dinner was supposed to happen and said it was cancelled. But the excuse given was not that it might rain later; the excuse given was ‘we haven’t had time after the rain finished to put the decorations up so we won’t be able to’. By that point the rain had stopped and there was enough time to prepare the table - a full hour bare minimum. And on my weather app, the weather was set to be pretty clear. I even checked the precipitation map on my phone and I literally could see the giant rain cloud leaving the area fully between 8-10pm. But from the vibe of the phone call, it very much felt like ‘we took the decorations down this morning because we mistakenly put them up last night and now we can’t be bothered to do it again’. I had just got engaged so I wasn’t going to have someone tell me I can’t have my special dining experience because they can’t be bothered! We went to reception to ask what was going on. The same ‘we haven’t had time to prepare the table’ argument came up as well as ‘it could rain again’. I was confused because it was an hour away from the dinner time so I said something similar to ‘surely the table could be set up in that time?’ ‘It’s not raining now soooo….’ When the other manager piped up that it could rain again, I’d had enough. I just said ‘I’m British, I’m used to the rain. If it rains, it rains, you adapt. I don’t care.’ After I said this they seemed to run out of excuses and seemed to get things rolling. When one manager asked me if we’re celebrating something special and I held up my hand and said ‘yes, we just got engaged’, she seemed really surprised. How could you be? Sure

We stayed at the Coral Reef Resort for 7 nights. Rooms are very nicely designed. Service and staff was very friendly, accommodating and attentive for all services including the breakfast. The property and stay would have been fantastic, but there were some major downsides. We selected a better resort to enjoy a week away from air and noise pollution. Unfortunately, this hope was disappointed due to the following: - there were construction works ongoing throughout the entire week at both pools and next to the restaurant. Loud grinding work was done in all places, with intense noise and dust pollution. - Workers were present at all times, also at the beach where sand was removed for building purposes throughout all 7 days. There was no place to relax without being observed by workers. - Unfortunately, also the Andaman beaches are suffering from global plastic pollution. Plastic is washed upon the beautiful beaches on daily bases. It would have been nice, if at least the resort would cleaned off the plastic each day from their beach which was not the case. Under different circumstances, we would definitely recommend the coral reef resort. Like this, we had to escape the resort each day. We were not prior informed about the construction work and the offered compensation is not even worth mentioning.

We had a very comfortable and enjoyable 2-night stay at Coral Reef Resort, Havelock. Should have booked a longer stay here! The resort isn’t a sprawling property, but it’s thoughtfully designed and has all the comforts you’d look for—two swimming pools, a spa, a dining hall, a bar, a private beach, and activities for both adults and children. The Sapphire room (Pool facing) was well-equipped, clean, well air-conditioned, with comfortable bedding. The hospitality was warm, prompt, and consistent throughout. The food was enjoyable, with a nice breakfast spread, and the Wi-Fi worked reasonably well for Havelock Island. Overall, the place offers a comfortable and calm experience—just what we needed. Some suggestions (just minor ideas to improve an already pleasant stay): - A bathing cubicle instead of just the bath tub; its easier and safer too! Bathtubs could be add-ons - Sound carries through wooden structures—we had a noisy upstairs guest one night, but the staff handled it well. - A few quieter rooms for couples/solo travellers, fans near the beach, and mosquito control in common areas would be great. - A pool floater for non-swimmers would be useful too. Overall: great comfort, friendly service, and a relaxed setting. Would definitely recommend!

Did not have a pleasant experience during my stay . Booked my stay for 3 nights but found termite in bed due to which could not sleep ,pictures below . Staff friendly but services not up to the mark on various occasions which was informed at the reception but no actions taken. Wanted to avail spa and informed at reception,also about breakfast but never got any response from them. Bad experience overall
