I spent three nights at the Grand Hotel La Favorita. The location is terrific, right in the center of Sorrento and only two blocks from the elevator to the ferry port. It's about a 12 minute walk to the train station, if you're going to to Naples or Pompeii. My room had a patio with slight view of the bay. While the furniture was more of a "traditional" style, I really liked the blue floor tile. It was very spacious, with a daybed and two armchairs. The best part of the hotel is the 4th floor rooftop, with restaurant and pool. Views were amazing. The pool temperature was a little on the cool side, but you'll get used it to it quickly. Plenty of umbrellas were available for shade, though there was sometimes a wait for a lounge chair. Breakfast was enjoyable. While it was more on the continental side (plenty of cakes, breads, fruit, and yogurt), there were some hot choices and omelettes made to order. All the staff I encountered, whether at the front desk, housekeeping, or rooftop, were friendly and spoke excellent English. If I returned to Sorrento, I'd gladly stay here again. Pro-tip: If you're taking the ferry, don't be like me and carry your luggage up the many flights of stairs to the town center. Just ask for directions to the lift. €1.20 each way, but there's a small discount if you purchase a roundtrip ticket.

The food was great for breakfast. The location was close to the central square and the marina. The accommodations were nice. USB terminals for charging are needed. The bar was nice. The employees were excellent. The showers/bath are small.

We had a wonderful time in Sorrento with family! The hotel well surpassed our expectations! It was a beautiful property, great views from the rooftop bar, and the staff were excellent! We would definitely stay there again and recommend it as a great home base to explore Sorrento and the peninsula!

La Favorita is a truly elegant comfort zone in the heart of the old section of Sorrento, a short block off the cliffs that plunge precipitously down to the shoreline and marinas far below. It is also only a few blocks from the famous Piazza Tasso, a center for restaurants with outdoor seating, strolling musicians and already busy with local and tourist populations in late April when we were there. La Favorita has the best breakfast we have consumed in all of many areas of Italy we have travelled. Orange and Lemon trees grace their gardens and the staff was enormously cheerful and helpful in every way. Their valet service parked our car in their own garage housed conveniently and directly beneath the hotel.

Absolutely the best possible choice in Sorrento for a 5 Star hotel. Beautiful lobby, extravagant rooms with wonderful views. The staff could not be anymore help. Perfect location to everything!

I can’t say enough good things about our stay. Our room was beautiful and spacious and better than we expected (we received a complimentary upgrade), the staff (front desk and housekeeping) was friendly and professional. They were top notch. The food was delicious (breakfast and dinner). We will stay at La Gran Favorita again and I will recommend it to all.

The hotel was beautiful and the location is great. We had a small balcony that had a partial water view. The pool and bar upstairs were so awesome. The hotel is close to many restaurants and loads of shopping.

This hotel was one of the nicest that I have ever stayed in. Everything was absolutely delightful. The hotel staff were all friendly and welcoming. The rooms were luxurious and tastefully decorated and designed. We enjoyed the outdoor gardens, and the pool/bar area. The bar staff was excellent and remembered what our drink preferences were and our room number. The view was beautiful from the pool deck for sunsets and the evening entertainment was enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel.
