Riverview Inn & Suites

Excellent, the room was nice and clean. The service was good

We stayed at the Riverview for two nights for a wedding in nearby Bristol, RI. The hotel served our purpose very well. It was obvious that the rooms were recently refurbished and the location was very clean as well. It appears that work is ongoing. The indoor pool (closed) looks like it was just repainted. Additionally, there is a large open space, riverside, with a basketball court, spot for a volleyball net, gazebo, and children's playground. A bit of maintenance and that can be a very valuable asset. No food on site. A few "grocery store purchased" snacks were in the lobby for breakfast. However Roger's family restaurant less than a mile away was inexpensive and very good. Jillian's tavern shares a parking lot with the hotel. Very nice inside with good looking menu, but we just spent an hour there for a drink. If our schedule had permitted we would definitely have tried a meal. Convenient location right off of I95 so travel to Bristol area and Providence or even Fall River is very convenient. Staff was very attentive and housekeeper even told us on the way out that she would check our room and clear security deposit right away. If you need a nice place to stay, reasonably priced, and want to use it primarily for a roof over your head, this is a great stop. When pool is open or if you have young children for basketball and playground, it's even better.

Nice outdoor space and balcony attached to room *Air conditioner worked well *TV was good *Refrigerator was clean *Great ice machine *Parking was easy *Pub next door was good Cons *The toliet paper dispenser was broken. You had to reach up inside to get one sheet at a time. Ended up with a cut knuckle. No spare roll in our room. *There was blood on two of the pillowcases. We didn't see it until after we woke up. Not ours. I informed the front desk and he assured me it wasn't blood. (He did not ask to see it.) *Someone pooped and left it on the ground by the pool entrance (human). *The fitted sheet kept falling off the mattress. It looked like it was the wrong size sheet for the bed. *Little to no outlets- the one outlet by the desk didn't even work. *We were unable to figure out the light switch- could only get one lamp to work. *Coffee maker was very dirty *Small and thin bath towels smelled nasty- like they were forgotten in the laundry. Pool towels smelled better.

It may be a river view, but probably not what you're thinking. The rooms are adequate. They definitely need to be updated. The TV was good. The WiFi is unsecure and both of my browsers recommended not to connect to it.

I don't mind a hotel that's a bit rundown, but on this occasion, the manager isn't even trying. The toilette paper dispenser in our room was completely not functional, it was so bad that I had to pry it open to get any paper out of it. Once it was open I saw that both rolls of paper had been picked at with small chunks torn away in a desperate attempt to get any paper from it. This pretty much sums up how much this hotel cares about it's customers. The potential to have an amazing pool is completely squandered. The pool area is filthy with moldy windows and NO TOWELS. You have to go to the front desk on the other end of the building just to get a pool towel. There is no breakfast. They had coffee with powdered creamer. The hotel itself is not the worse, but the manager completely neglects the place and it's customers.

The place is a little more than rundown. The entire hotel smell like incense of some kind which was so overpowering that I got a headache almost immediately after checking in. The room smells like chlorine which again was so overwhelming my son’s eyes were burning. So we took a walk to the swimming pool area which was noting like pictures and smelled like diesel fuel or something. The pool (water) itself looks to be completely unclean with what looks to be some kind of scummy film floating on top of the water. The smoking area seems to be right in front of the door and so every time the door opens the cigarette smell comes right in. The hotel staff were having a loud discussion amongst themselves so loud my son who was sitting on the couch came running to me not knowing or understanding what’s happening. Meanwhile the line at the desk was getting long. The room they called a deluxe King was all but that, the tv when tired on repeats everything to you from the channels, the value to the countdown time on the YouTube videos. I checked out less than an hour later. The little weekend getaway with my son was ruined as it was too late to book anything else for the weekend. When I called the hotel the next day the guy said he’d refund me the entire cost of the stay, I guess we’ll have to wait and see what they do.
