Barceló Maya Beach - All Inclusive

I stayed at the Hotel Maya Beach. The entire Barceló complex is impressive, offering a wide range of activities and spaces to enjoy a holiday. However, the hotel itself falls short in terms of food quality and service. The food was not of good quality, and although there were themed restaurants, the same food was served from the buffet. Our room had a clogged bathtub, and the hand towel was not replenished. As for the staff, overall, we experienced poor service at the buffet and the pool bar. We were often ignored, sometimes waiting for over five minutes while staff remained in the storage area chatting amongst themselves. The only noteworthy service we received was at the Santa Fe restaurant, where Inovel Arcos provided an experience truly deserving of a five-star hotel.

This resort was recommended by my co-worker that has been to this resort several times. This resort along with the 3 other resorts that you have access to(Caribe, Colonial & Tropical)did not disappoint. Maya Beach has the most beautiful beaches that I have been too as well Pools were serene, beautiful and vast. A la Carts were all very delicious and all had great variety in their menus that could satisfy your palate. Be prepared to get your steps in as the resort is large to get around but is well worth the effort at this beautiful consortium of resorts and the best part of this resort are the beaches and the back drop to the crystal clear waters to soak and swim in. We enjoyed our stay here! The pool activities were a blast and we loved the shows. Be sure to book your dinner reservations right when you check in, we had 4 but only could use 3 due to how fast they filled up. Amazingly friendly staff!!

We were a little bit disappointed. We’ve had a very nice experience in April at Tropical and we decided to go back and try another of the hotels but the service in general was disappointing. Maybe October is not a good time for this all inclusive resort

Extremely Disappointing Start to Our Anniversary Stay. We just arrived today at Barceló Maya Beach for our very first wedding anniversary — a trip we were really looking forward to and spent over $3,000 on to make it special. Unfortunately, our experience so far has been far from what we expected. From the moment we arrived, there was no proper welcome — no greeting, no warmth, nothing that made us feel valued as guests. At the buffet, we were completely ignored, despite being among only a few people there. No one came to our table, no service, not even a simple “hello.” When we went to the resort shops, again, not a single smile or greeting from anyone. It honestly feels like staff don’t care about guest experience. We tried to book à la carte restaurants, and were told that the main steakhouse — one of the reasons we chose this resort — is fully booked for our entire stay, even though we literally just checked in today. We asked to speak with a manager to express our concerns, but were told he was “too busy” and to “try later.” When we finally got to our room, our luggage wasn’t delivered, and we had to call to request it ourselves. For a resort that promotes itself as a premium destination, especially for special occasions like anniversaries, this kind of service and hospitality is unacceptable. We came here hoping for a memorable, relaxing experience — instead, the first few hours have been stressful and disappointing. I really hope someone from management reads this and takes it seriously, because right now this does not reflect the quality or reputation that Barceló resorts claim to have.
