2nd visit and stayed in the barn again. Slight mix up with the room allocation (my fault) but very quickly rectified. Huge comfy bed one I got on it, if my feet can't reach the floor I know it'll take me a few go's to get the perfect position. Big walk-in shower but beware, the floor is a bit spongy at the edge due to water ingress. Decent selection of teas, coffees etc and biscuits for the dogs. The communal area of the barn gives you another space to relax and even better once the log fire is lit. Eating is done over in the main pub, easily accessible via the wee bridge over the Beck. Good choice for dinner but you need to order at the bar, if eating in the bar area (we had the dogs so not allowed in restaurant part). Breakfast has all the usuals and their granola was both sticky and crumbly at the same time, delicious. There will be a lot of dogs as it's a very welcoming place for our four legged friends.

Our experience at The Lister Arms was wonderful . From the moment we arrived, the staff impressed us with their genuine warmth and attentive service, making us feel instantly at ease. Our room radiated a welcoming charm, complete with a generously sized bathroom, a very comfortable bed and great amenities including home baked cookies and The White Company toiletries. The culinary offerings were equally memorable—dinner was a delight, and breakfast was the perfect start to our day. Nestled in a picturesque location, The Lister Arms provides an ideal base for exploring the surrounding countryside. I would unreservedly recommend this charming retreat to anyone seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating escape.

Had an overnight stay in the hotel and dinner at the restaurant. Really enjoyed my time here, pub is cosy and welcoming. The room was comfortable and spacious and had a fantastic shower! Would’ve been nice for a fridge, but that’s just preference. Also, a very minor thing was a slight lack of attention to cleaning, especially cobwebs on the walls. Dinner in the restaurant was very tasty, and staff were very apologetic and offered complimentary items due to a longer wait than anticipated for the meal. Breakfast in the morning was also top notch. Lovely area with some stunning walks. Would recommend wholeheartedly!

Six of us had a fantastic dinner after a day in the dales. At our table, the steak and ale pie was popular, and excellent. Fish and chips were good too. The pub was busy, and characterful, with a roaring log fire. Apparently, it has win “Yorkshire Pub of the Year”. I can see why. Recommended.

Booked the savoury afternoon tea for our wedding anniversary, it was fabulous, I could not recommend it highly enough. My husband loved his little trio of ales that he had with it!

We booked 2 nights midweek in this lovely gem of a place. The area is beautiful, all the staff working the bar and restaurant etc are so friendly and accommodating and the pub and rooms are clean and cosy. The food was really good too, so compliments to the chef. A special mention to Tim who served our breakfast, he was so funny and friendly, gave us a good laugh in the morning with our banter whilst also being very efficient. Also a special mention to Melissa who looked after us for our evening meal. She was so lovely and couldn't do enough for us, the whole team and especially these 2 really made our visit special. Will definitely return.

It was a Tuesday in late November, we had booked and expected the worst in weather, but we were so lucky, a beautiful crisp and sunny day to walk up onto the limestone pavement. Upon return lovely beer and smashing warm room, shower great too. We ate elsewhere, but returned for more beer before bedtime. The breakfast provided a greay variety. I enjoyed the yoghurt and compot, fruit salad, cereal and then scrambled egg with smoked salmon. Our only niggle was the full cooked breakfast, yes it was full, had everything on it but was unfortunately not very warm and the bacon was hard.

We love Malham and having previously enjoyed visiting the Lister Arms, I thought it would be a great place to spend a big birthday. After a great walk, we enjoyed a beer and checked in. The rooms varied in quality, but all satisfactory. Nice atmosphere in the bar where we enjoyed a pre dinner drink, however the meal itself was disappointing. I’m always apprehensive about booking a meal on a Monday night recognising that it may be one of the chefs nights off. Not sure who was in the kitchen that night, but I think they dropped the salt cellar in the veg! Given that I am now officially old I was happy to head off to bed, whereas the younger members of the family were looking forward to catching up over a few drinks. However the barman, despite being much younger than me, was also heading off for an early night. Not sure who was in the kitchen for breakfast, but it was delicious.

Came here after an extremely cold and windy hike up to Malham Cove, we walked in and found a table straight away opposite the fire. We ordered our drinks and decided on the steak baguette with chips and peppercorn sauce, and an extra portion of chips. The food was outstanding- really tender steak, best peppercorn sauce we’ve ever tasted and really crispy chips cooked in beef dripping. It was enough between the two of us for lunch, two portions would have been too much as the portion size was decent. The staff were polite and welcoming and we are really glad we came here- will absolutely return here!
