Highlander Inn Skardu

We popped down to The Highlander in Craigellachie tonight as a little family celebration after a weekend of karting. I usually drink in the pub now and again with my friend, but this time it was all five of us, me, my wife, and our three boys, and honestly, it couldn’t have been better. The food is absolutely top drawer. We had the smash burgers and they were mind blowing. Proper flavour, cooked to perfection, and really generous portions. But what really sets The Highlander apart is the staff. Every time I go in they remember me, and this evening, as always, they were just brilliant, going above and beyond in every way they could and nothing was too much trouble. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, they make the whole experience feel special. It’s great value too, and being just down the road in the same village makes it even handier. We don’t often eat out as a family, but when we do, we’ll absolutely be coming back here. In our view, The Highlander isn’t just the best place in Craigellachie, it’s hands down the best place to eat in the whole surrounding area. Highly recommended. A proper local treasure.

A wee cosy hidden gem in the heart of Malt Whisky Country. Fantastic two night stay at this cosy hotel, great food, fantastic staff. A lovely relaxing spot if your staying over or just passing through for food/drink. Thank you Team Highlander.

Visited for lunch great pub , atmosphere and staff , fantastic selection of whiskies and food was first class , good selection of traditional classic , haggis meeps and tattles as well as venison burgers , well worth a visit, busy even on a lunch time so likely worth booking especially in peak season
