"This is really lovely hotel but again 4 star not 5 The staff are all excelleant, especialy the reception staff and the bar staff, they could not be anymore pleasant and helpful if they tried, always smiling chatting asking how your holiday was going. The bar staff would daily bring little treats around the pool, nice touch Our room was beautiful overlooking the pool and the church and there was nothing to complain about, the cleaner came in each day, and we had fresh towels as needed, lovely cake and free local greek drink left for us each day The food was nice but the restaurant a little under managed, no spoons with tea and coffee, no clear direction on arrival and the soup always cold. The menu is varied and very nice but the salad bars and starters all very much the same night after night. We ate out locally every lunchtime as we were half board but also ate twice in the week in the local greek restaurant. We attended a Greek night at Amelias, it was fantastic The sunbeds were very worn in places, ripped cushions and the parasols were not very secure. There was room for more sunbeds and i dont see why they cant have enough sunbeds for all guests seeing its such a small hotel"

"Fantastic hotel and facilities. Totally relaxing break. Went to all restaurants, even main buffet restaurant was high quality standards and best I’ve experienced on all inclusive. Staff efficient and friendly. Would highly recommend and say you get what you pay for."

Maritimo Beach Hotel ★★★★

"I have been to Crete many times but never Sissi, after the demise in quality of all inclusive holidays my family and I decided to try this hotel and the half board package. This hotel was everything we hoped it would be. We booked a superior room and do not think wr got this but it was big enough for what we needed it for. The beds were very comfortable, AC was strong and there was plenty of luggage space. Only negative was the shower which would alternate between very hot and icy cold and every temp in between, however a small negative. The food at breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and lots being freshly made throughout. The pancakes were fantastic, as was the constant coffee refills from the staff. The staff in the restaurant at both meal times were amazing, so friendly and nice, a breath of fresh air after other hotels we have visited. The food in the evening was varied, tasty and always hot. Really very good. A tip is to get the outside eating area as the main room gets very hot. Athena at the pool bar was always friendly, was lovely to my family and great for advice on the local area and travel. Fresh pool towels every day is a nice touch too. My only gripe and it is a small one is no room is provided to shower. you check out at 11 and the only place to shower for late departures is the public bathroom by the smaller pool. The small pool area was perfect for us, only about 30 sun loungers and not too hectic, the main pool area seemed a bit crammed in like sardines. I would definitely visit here again. The building work at nearby hotels does not cause any issue and this is a very peaceful place to visit"

Vasia Sea Retreat ★★★

📍 Sissi 72400 Sisi Lasithiou, Sisi

"Our first visit to Crete, for the Vasia itself the staff are lovely, so happy & friendly! The hotel is clean and met our needs for a relaxing week long holiday. The room was spacious with plenty of storage for 2 people. There was ample sun beds around all 3 pools every day, the sound and view of the sea was a delight! Breakfast was a buffet with à la carte drinks service and a small selection of food such as poached eggs or omelette. The gardens are maintained daily, with beautiful flowers and greenery. We were on a bed & breakfast basis, popping to the local shop for some lunch basics & drinks which were stored in our small room fridge, we are so pleased we did this and then walked out into the village for our evening meals as there is so much choice offering traditional Greek family tavernas (you must make the effort to visit Neromilos, it was the star of the show & the best experience of our week!) there was also lovely spots near the sea to eat or drink & enjoy the evenings sunset which was spectacular every night. We would recommend Sissi, and Vasia Sea Retreat for anyone looking for a relaxing quiet peaceful break in Greece!"

"We have just got back for a wonderful stay at this hotel. Ignore the previous reviews as the hotel has had an amazing upgrade in all areas. We arrived early and was told our room would be ready to check in straight away and handed a welcome drink, which was great and the staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. We have stopped in hundreds of hotels and this room was one of the nicest. The room itself is huge, with a walk in wardrobe and plenty of storage. We also had a free upgrade to a sea view room, which was a lovely surprise. The hotel itself has a new, calming feel to it and has clearly been upgraded to a very high standard. There are three different pool areas, meaning it didn’t feel too busy and a sun bed was always available. The sun loungers were all brand new and reflected the high standard through out the hotel. We had bed and breakfast and were never disappointed in the amount of choice on a morning. From breads, pastries, fruit, cooked breakfast etc. They have also upgraded the spa and gym area, with one of the best gyms I’ve visited in a hotel, with lots of new equipment and space. There is still some work being done to the bottom end of the hotel but the workers are very polite and it didn’t interfere with our stay. The noise level from the workers/machines was minimal and couldn’t be heard or see from the pool area. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and hopefully will be back in the future."

"When we are arrived at the hotel the receptionist ( Lela) met us at the side entrance as I am in a wheelchair and there are step at the front entrance. We had great check in and had a beautiful welcome drink that Maria made and a gentleman took our luggage to our room and it was the room we requested and fruit and wine in the room. As we had an early flight so we had a bar meal that was delicious and went to our room, breakfast was great but more fruit needed but that was not a problem as the F& B manager ( Cazlidis Christoforos) ( sorted that out for me every day he said he only orders fruit that is good quality and in season. The staff at breakfast and dinner where wonderful and helpful at all time , some names are , Dora , Samson, Merc, and the two Eves, also in the bar there is Maria , Artemis, Balaz. There is a lift and level flooring throughout the building. They had entertainment in all 3 hotels but the village as lots of steps but the Hotel Manager ( Panagiotis Kapetanakis ) said they would get a manual wheelchair and they would life me in to the village but I decided not to go there only the Castello Boutique Suites and our hotel for shows . The Hotel Manager took us to the Castello Boutique Suites to show us the access and when we got there there was helpful staff including Efthimios Mckoymakis that recommended wine to us and great service , we also had great service from all the staff there including Queen. Also the staff can’t do enough to help you and I must mention the wonderful Harry. I will be returning to this hotel soon as the location is great in Sissi and wonderful rooms and staff ."

"We had a beautiful room with a pool and sea view. Very clean, with everything we needed. The atmosphere was relaxing, welcoming, and warm. The restaurant was really good, with a wide choice of food. The staff were extremely welcoming. We had the chance to go to the spa, and there too we had a lovely time. We rented a car through the hotel, and the person who helped us was very welcoming — everything went smoothly and easily. A special mention for Mary and Mohamad, who welcomed us so, so warmly from our very first visit to the restaurant, and every day after that, morning, noon, and evening."

"The place is nice, close to the sea in a quiet town, and the massages at the Aegeo spa are GREAT. So are the workers. Sofia at the spa reception helped us to manage a rental car repair while Vicky was taking care of us in a royal way (If usually you are disapointed when asking for a strong massage, here you will be happy). I'm not often writing reviews, but this massage deserve 5 stars. And overall the hotel is very cool, good food and nice people."

Angela Suites Boutique Hotel ★★★★★
"Angela Suites is in an ideal location to enjoy all the local restaurants and cocktail bars in Sissi. The hotel is extremely clean and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. We didn't have an evening meal in the restaurant but lunchtime drinks and food was good and reasonably priced. I found the breakfast very repetitive, the fresh fruit salad never varied, I never saw a grape, apple or any berries in 14 days. There was the usual self service hot food section, toast, croissants, greek yoghurt but no cooked to order egg station. Other guests were permitted to smoke on the edge of the breakfast area and of course, smoke travels! It was the same round the pool. As far as the hotel, I believe the only reason it is classed as 5* is because of the onsite spa and gym. The communal areas were 4* at best and our Junior suite room with balcony was more a 3/3.5*. The bath area is very dated with a shower over the bath and a shower curtain. I can't remember the last time I saw one of those! The bed is memory foam and comfortable and our sheets were changed every couple of days. Although the towels were thin, they were nice and white and changed daily. Because this is classed as a 5* hotel, the daily tax is €15. The hotel also has an apartment block, steps away and the guests are able to use all the facilities of the hotel, the tax for the apartments is only €2 daily. I have given this a 4 out of 5, but my true rating would be 3.5 out of 5. We did enjoy our stay in Sissi, it is a very pretty town but unfortunately I probably would not return to Angela Suites."

Staff so friendly. Area is quiet , stunning . Best holiday we have had for being relaxed in a friendly location. Anything negative ? Yes 2 weeks wasn't long enough."

Vasia Sea Retreat ★★★
"Just back from a 10 day stay, overall, this is a great hotel and I would definitely love to return. The location suited us well, just on the edge of the village about 10 mins walk to the centre but with a supermarket and few bars/restaurants close by. The hotel is very well kept, gardens are lovely, pool areas clean and sun loungers comfy. A lovely relaxed atmosphere around the pools. We were B&B and the breakfast was good, the orange juice was lovely, not the watered-down rubbish you get in some places. The only thing that was a bit hit and miss was the cleaning, the cleaners were lovely but I’m not sure if we had someone new as we weren’t left water on quite a few days (we weren’t sure if it should have been left or not), we were only left a loo roll a couple of times and had to go hunting for the cleaner or the trolley to get some on several occasions. We didn’t use the pool bar as it was quite expensive, we nipped next door to the Alexandros for lunch a couple of times which was half the price. The only other small(ish) negative was we realised on the last day that the safe was not actually screwed down, if anyone decided to break in they could have easily took it with them. We were in block 3, the rooms are sea view which is great but in the late afternoon and evening we found the balcony too hot to sit out having a sundowner, some chairs at the rear of the block would be useful for a bit of shade I think, just a suggestion! As I said we think we will return at some point due to the location, setting and course the staff who were all lovely and welcoming."

Vasia Resort and Spa, Sissi, Crete ★★★★★
"This hotel was amazing and surpassed our expectations. Before arriving at the resort we were pretty worried about the experience we would have due to previous reviews. However, our stay here was amazing. The staff were really polite and were very accommodating. There are a few cons I would like to point out just to make everyone aware. The first thing being the shallow pools. There are multiple pools scattered throughout the resort, all really nice. However they are only around 0.8m deep which was still fun to swim around in but a deeper pool would have been nicer. The deepest pool onsite is inside the spa which is 1.4 meters deep. Also regarding the spa, I never actually used the facilities as it’s 50 euros for 90 min access to the pool, Sauna and steam room and then additional costs for treatments, however it did look really nice if that’s within anyone’s budget. Another small con was we arrived around 11pm and wanted to get some food before going to bed. The hotel did provide us with some wraps with chicken and salad on, however we didn’t like them very much and really wanted a different selection of food. The hotel does not offer room service after 10pm so getting food after that time is difficult. For anyone interested there is a kebab shop around a 7-10 min walk from the hotel that is open till late, if the food options after 10pm affects others like it did us. Other than these small cons the experience really is amazing. Cleanliness is really good and house keeping is great. Food inside the hotel is very nice. Breakfast is buffet style, lunch is ordered from menus which stayed the same and dinner is buffet. There was entertainment on one night after dinner around 9pm but we didn’t see anymore after that. However we did go from 9th- 16th June so they are likely just starting out for the season so the entertainment will probably pick up after this. A pointer for anyone wanting to go into near by towns like Malia, order taxis from the hotel front desk as they will give you their number and you can come back with the same driver for a reasonable price. We went for a night out in malia one night and paid 20 euro for a taxi to get there and then were told by a different driver it’s 35 euro to get back, and then another driver told us 25 euro. To avoid over spending stick with the company the hotel sends. Another thing to point out is that the hotel is currently under renovation and is expected to be finished in 2028 so if you don’t want to be around construction work then I’d probably avoid until it’s done however it’s not in the way, doesn’t make too much noise and really didn’t bother us while we were there. The bar inside the hotel is open until 12pm however after 11pm you have to pay even if your all inclusive, we just ordered extra drinks around 10:30pm to avoid this because it’s silly to me you have to me you have to pay for the last hour of opening time. And the last thing, we booked a room where the maximum people allowed were 3 so natur"
