"We chose Hotel Sigiriya due to its proximity to The Lion Rock entrance. Distance from hotel is roughly 8 mins. Please note, it’s advisable to not WALK! Remember to order a tuk-tuk in advance if you plan to climb Sigiriya and watch the sunrise. We left at 5am and paid a return ride of LKR1,500 for two person. Our tuk-tuk driver Chaminda +94 ********* took good care of us -two 50yrs old ladies who successfully climbed the summit. Typical of Ceylonese people the hotel staffs were warm and friendly. Shout out to Tharaka (Reception Manager) who always greeted us with a smile and Shehan Restaurant Manager for entertaining us during our 3 day stay. Our room was a bit dated but clean and comfortable. Good hot shower and acceptable water pleasure. Nice to return to a room that’s been nicely made after 2 hard days of stairs climbing - the Pidurangala (first day) and Sigiriya (second day). Our travel dates were May 31 - Jun 3. Good variety for breakfast buffer - Sri Lankan and Western. The same applies to dinner buffer too. Overall, nice hotel and yes will stay again."

The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help with a smile, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We especially loved the wellness experience, the healthy and delicious food, and the peaceful environment. It was the perfect place for us to spend quality time together, relax, and recharge. What stood out most was how genuine and caring everyone was. Nothing felt rushed, and the whole experience felt very personal and thoughtful. "I had a two night stay at Sinhagiri Villa and really enjoyed it. It’s a smallish, family run boutique hotel. You’ll enjoy home cooked meals and a very warm welcome while you’re there. While the rooms may be basic they are very clean and well maintained. It is convenient to local historic sites as well as other points of interest. We climbed Pidurangala Rock one morning and the hosts arranged a predawn tuk tuk driver for us. If you’re looking for an enjoyable stay as you explore Sri Lanka you won’t go wrong here. One note, my friend and I were self driving and had just clicked on the hotel on Google Maps to get navigation. The pin must be placed in the wrong location because we were routed about 20 minutes out of the way. When we entered the physical address found on the internet into the navigation it took us directly to Sinhagiri Villa. There is a great little lunch spot that is about a 1Km walk from the Villa, McCafe, check it out while you’re there, you’ll love it!"

"A brilliant experience, we stayed in the treehouse pictured and everything has been thought of, great shower, mosquito nets, plenty of sockets (3 pin UK style) mini fridge in the treehouse, lockable cupboard to keep your snacks away from visiting monkeys. 2 types of langurs and slender loris can be seen in the jungle around the hotel. The restaurant choices for dinner are limited and there aren't too many other places to eat out but we found a vegetarian option for 2 nights. Breakfast was good. Loved laying in bed listening to the sounds of the birds and monkeys around us. Really friendly and helpful owner and staff."

"My experience at this establishment was profoundly disappointing due to the exceptionally rude behavior of both the owner and the male receptionist. From the moment we arrived, the receptionist's unwelcoming demeanor was evident. He barely acknowledged our presence and seemed more interested in his phone than in assisting us. His curt responses and condescending tone made us feel like an unwelcome intrusion rather than valued customers. The situation worsened when we had to interact with the owner. I had hoped for a more professional attitude, but unfortunately, the owner was even more abrasive. When we inquired about the entertainment package that was mentioned during pre-booking, both the receptionist and the owner declined our request without providing a valid explanation. Instead of addressing our concerns, the owner interrupted us and made it clear that our feedback was not welcome. Such behavior is unacceptable and speaks volumes about the lack of customer service training and basic courtesy at this place. It’s disheartening to see how little regard they have for their patrons. I strongly advise against visiting this establishment if you expect to be treated with respect and professionalism. There are plenty of other places where your business will be genuinely appreciated."

"This hotel has terrible facilities and service. 1. The Wi-Fi in room 97 had no signal, so I had to use the internet in the lobby. 2. There was no hot water in the room, and the staff spent two hours trying to get it working, but I still couldn't shower. I had to go to another room to shower. 3. Breakfast was extremely slow. I booked for 8:00 AM, but by 8:30 AM I had only eaten a few pieces of fruit."
