Perfect Hostel
I wasn't expecting free dinner, but got one and it was really good. Breakfast was really good as well.

Beautiful location in the pueblito of Chugchilan. Comfortable accommodations, excellent food, clean, with rustic amenities. Exceptional staff. They go above and beyond for the guests. Laundry services were an added bonus after several days of travel.

Patricia and Jose look after everyone, especially tired hikers. If you've hiked the Quilotoa Loop, you will have seen their excellent red & yellow trail signs along the way. Jose knows all the trail routes and quirks, and is happy to provide recommendations based on weather and trail conditions. The location is easy, and it's a large facility with plenty of rooms, including a games room.

Arrivée à cet hostal chaleureux après une randonnée, un régal ! Super accueil, café et thé offert pour se réchauffer au coin du feu et échanger avec les autres randonneurs, ambiance très conviviale Chambre avec deux lits doubles, très confortables, salle de bain nickel avec eau chaude, serviettes et savon Le soir, le repas copieux avec soupe, plat, dessert, est super bon. On vient nous demander notre itinéraire du lendemain, on nous explique tout, plans pour les randonnées ou horaires pour les bus, top. Comme on part tôt avant l'horaire du petit dej, on passe nous amener dans notre chambre notre petit dej à emporter ! Copieux ! Tout le monde très gentil et aux petits soins, endroit chaleureux, on y serait bien resté plus qu'une nuit !! 15$ par personne en demi pension, n'hésitez pas !

Great stay at cloud forest hostel. The absolute highlight is the owner and staff who are helpful, friendly and flexible. The hostel is located in an area perfect for hiking which is fully supported by the hostel: they provide travel tips, maps etc. Furthermore, the included breakfast and dinner are of great quality (esp. considering the price).

We hiked from Sicghos to Quilotoa, and this hostel had the best food of any of the hostels we stayed in along the way. It was also a very reasonable price. The room was also very nice. Really no downside

We enjoyed our short stay at Cloud Forest a lot! They were very accomodating and helpful! The dinner and breakfast was delicious and indeed a lot of food to fuel up for hiking 👌 The price is very low for what you get so definitly worth a visit!

This hostal is incredible! The rooms are spacious and warm, with hot water. We arrived soaking wet after a rain storm and they helped us with drying our clothes by a wood burning heater. There is also a game room with pool, ping pong, and foosball which was fun to enjoy with the other guests. The price is a very affordable $15/night per person (if you book directly) which includes a lovely dinner and breakfast (vegetarian options available!). There is also a small store attached to the hostal with snacks and drinks for sale, including cheese from the local cheese factory. You can order to go lunches as well to take with you on your walk. And to top it all off, the owner of this hostal is the one who MADE the trails from Isinlivi to Chuhchilan and from Chugchilan to Quilotoa. That is why you will see his advertising along the path. And he works continually to maintain them. Highly recommend this hostal!
