Podere la Strega

This wonderful hotel is what you would expect on the outskirts of Siena. It has a beautiful rustic feel about the place with lovely decorated rooms with traditional Italian furniture, large beds, and the rooms do have air conditioning. It is a family run hotel and with that you get a warm family feeling from the staff and the owners. There is a swimming pool with more than enough sunbeds and the lawns and garden just make the lay down area relaxing. We had bed and breakfast which was served in a lovely outside shaded area next to the kitchen. The breakfast was mostly home made produce with various meats bread cheese and eggs, more than enough. There is a relaxation area both inside and outside the premises and a communal fridge and cooking area if you fancy making a meal, There is a short cut walk into Siena which will take you about 25 mins, half of the walk is downhill and the other half is mostly up hill until you arrive in the main square. Letitia and her staff could not do enough for us. My Daughter was getting married nearby and they found out the gave us a bottle of Champagne. So kind. I would love to think we could return to this place in the future.

We have been blown away by how stunning and authentic this place is. It’s peaceful, beautiful and I haven’t slept this well for a long time. It’s about 15/20 € in a taxi into Siena and they are easy to get. The hotel ordered ours going out last night and we got one home from the taxi rank no problem. Everything is homemade for breakfast. Such a gorgeous house, beautifully decorated with unique rooms, sitting out areas, outside breakfast area and swimming pool looking over Siena. The hosts are kind and generous, the breakfasts a social affair at a long table outside. With over three generations of family history, and four hundred years of the house history, we felt privileged to stay there. Easy access to Siena - walking or driving. Fabulous.

Stunning house and hosts. I am in awe of Leticia and her husband love and care for their home which is now their business. The property is breathtaking the reception area welcomed you with loads of their beautiful portraits and I can see how much history these walls hold. Everything is impeccable and Leticia and her husband are a force. I hope every guests that enters their home is loving back to them as they are with their guests.

Letizia is a wonder — and lovely in every respect. She manages an olive farm as well as Podere La Strega, a location just outside Siena where a number of my family recently spent a week. We will long remember the beautiful views of Siena, home made jams at breakfast, and Letizia’s smiling can-do attitude about everything. She organized a wine tasting, a trip to a cheese farm, dinner reservations and so much more. On our final night, she arranged take-out pizza for the eight of us, accompanied by the very best green salad I’ve had in Italy, made by her from her own garden. We give Podere La Strega our highest recommendation. Go there! You will love Letizia too!

Such welcoming hosts! We were a large multigenerational family group and nothing was too much trouble and Letitzia's cooking was innovative and delicious with homegrown ingredients. The views of Siena are incredible and the walk into Siena is manageable in the cooler parts of the day.
