This is our second stay at this hotel. Check in excellent as always. Special thanks to Chris on reception. Our room was on the ground floor over looking the rear parking area. We had a drink in the bar which was busy but a nice atmosphere. We booked a stay and parking package the whole process was good. Our car was left on-site .As we were flying from terminal 2 we used the mini bus pick up service arranged by the hotel to take us the morning of our flight. No need if your flying from terminal 1 as it’s just a few minutes walk. Thanks for another excellent stay.

From start to finish, our stay was fabulous! We visited for my husbands birthday and the staff really made us feel special! The concierge were great and looked after my car and luggage for us and offered us water bottles for the way home. Reception brought us cocktails on arrival which was a lovely touch! When we first arrived to our room, there was a very nice treat plate saying ‘happy birthday!’ which was a lovely gesture. The room was clean and the bed was very comfy and spacious. Breakfast was absolutely delightful and the thought that has gone into the theme of the hotel is amazing! Even my toast (which was freshly baked bread!) came in a little ‘money bag’. I think my only ‘issue’.. and I use that term extremely loosely!!.. was the price tags on ornaments and dressing gowns etc… it felt a little gauche for a 5* hotel. Although I completely understand their reasoning behind it because they are fantastic ornaments.. it did make us panic a little and check everything was in the room before we could relax because we didn’t want to be charged for things! The price list in the ‘Gotham bugle’ was probably enough. It also confused us a little as to what was complimentary because the only thing stated as complimentary was water. Overall, we will definitely stay there again! Thank you for an amazing experience.

My family and relatives enjoyed the whole couple day's in Manchester with fency gentle staying at this hotel. starting from the flower door welcome champagne and exclusive reception. the location is the most convenient city center. walk distance to all interest places and shopping mall. the decorations are pretty new and modern luxury style. rooms are clean big and warm as home.
Especially gratitude to Miss Kathyryn Chan who helps my teenage son with great efforts on the delivery coordination of football shoes. it deeply impressed the young generation as a good example of manner and conduct.

We only paid £42 for our room as we wanted to be close to the airport …. Used Twilight check in so checked our cases in today and fly in the morning. Room absolutely fine, bar area nice, prices bloody great for a hotel in Manchester especially if you get here for happy hour between 5pm and 7pm … I think it’s Sunday to Thurs. The reason I am writing this review is because of a friendly, very helpful black chap named Michael, he’s awesome! I offered to buy him a drink as we were leaving as I had no cash … he said he couldn’t …. I was gutted, he deserved it!!
We’re off M56, a five-minute drive from Manchester International Airport. Central Manchester is 10 miles away, and home to Old Trafford, Etihad Stadium, the Science and Industry Museum, and The University of Manchester. Enjoy our on-site restaurant, fitness center, and a warm DoubleTree cookie when you arrive.

Hotel is conveniently located near Manchester airport, but if you are checking in late, traveling with a couple of suitcases, you may want to read on. We called the hotel from Brussels airport to get a basic sense of where to expect the hotel shuttle for pick up; we were told by the reception staff / operator, that one has to make the reservation online and the last pickup was at 10:00. We asked if she could make the reservation since I was already on the phone with her, but she explained it was an outsourced party and we had to do it. Our flight had a scheduled arrival at 09:30, so decided to make the shuttle booking. It was not easy to find a link on their website. Called them again to ask them where I could make the online reservation and was told one just has to cut across the street and the hotel was right there. Which we did. Luckily we had a small carryon with wheels each and it was not raining at that time, although the roads were wet from a recent rain shower. Hotel was functional. Clean/nice. IF you are arriving late, with the elderly or with a couple of large suitcases, please keep this in mind. Also call to understand the hours of operation for the shuttle service. It’s England, so having an umbrella handy is always useful. (As of mid March 2023).

This is a suburban resort hotel that is a bit far from the airport, but there are shuttle buses running between the terminals and the airport train station. The hotel room was nice and clean, but the hotel area was so large it was like walking into a maze. The restaurant is not bad, but the breakfast is a bit inferior compared to nearby airport hotels of the same level.

GGuest UserPros - Room and facilities in room all top quality andd better than any other aparthotel I'd previously stayed in which I can sometimes find to be cheaply fitted out (this was not) - Great coffee, little treats and real milk in the fridge! And the fact it had a fridge btw to keep my little treats chilled! - Super comfortable bed - The power washer-esque shower nearly knocked me over! - Nice scented toiletries - Ironing board and available without needing to ask reception - Wonderful view across the Manchester skyline - Great location for me, maybe 10-15 minute walk at most in any direction to main areas (Picadilly, Arndale, Deansgate, Spinningfields) with the exception of the Northern Quarter (which I knew) - Room could easily accommodate 3 adults Cons - Downstairs lobby area under refurbishment wasn't the best first impression - Lifts could get busy at different times of day - Touch controls took a little getting used to - Would have been a bit pricey at full price for me as a solo traveller but as it was I got a great deal in advance through a bit of up front research and site searching

GGuest UserWhat a fantastic wee hotel the Brooklyn is! We stayed here on the night of the 19th of June for one night before heading off abroad the next day. Great location and a very quirky little hotel far exceeding expectations and better than some of these corporate giants, loved it! Staff were all exceptional to us, friendly and professional always. Bar staff on that evening get a special mention as they were brilliant. Cocktails were out of this world, as stated by Cocktail Queen herself who I was travelling with. Loved the terrace style seating near the bar, never seen that before! Rooms were awesome, bathroom fantastic and I did have a good chuckle at the fact that you could see into the bathroom from the bedroom through a one-way glass panel, hilarious! Everything smelt so wonderfully clean in the building too and I could not fault this place at all! A wonderful stay and a big thanks to all the staff that were on that evening and the next day, you should all be exceptionally proud of yourselves!

GGuest UserWe stayed in Manchester for the weekend and The Midland was in a perfect spot for exploring the city.
Both nights we stayed at the Midland there were wedding parties being hosted there, unfortunately this led to not having the best sleep as there was regularly noise coming from other rooms, but when we called reception they did their best to help.
In the morning the staff were extremely apologetic and went above and beyond to make it up to us and said they usually are able to keep the bigger parties staying in the same area so this does not happen.
Lovely hotel, lovely staff, great location!

DDeimanteMy room was meant to be with king size bed but we got 2 single beds joined together, the single beds had wheels on them so they kept rolling away from each other. It would also move around when you’d try to get into bed. Beds were super high as well, and when they are on wheels it’s a bit tricky to get into one of them especially if you’re short and overweight. Tv was not working, super old so had no smart hub, so no Netflix or any other platforms, you can’t even stream your screen view from your phone. Antenna had no reception so you couldn’t even watch any regular tv programs.
Other than that, shower was great and clean, everything else in the room was also clean and the room was pretty spacious which I really liked. Location is great, you have an access to a gym.
GGuest UserEverything was perfect.
But it was a matter of big surprise/shock that this holiday inn Express hotel has not got a single USB charging point, not in the room, not in the breakfast area even.
Would suggest to make some small investment like couple of thousand pounds in putting some USB charging points at least in Public Areas. Even busses and taxis are providing them
The kettle in the room was so unique.

Very Good
GGuest UserWe arrived earlier than checking due to having spa treatments booked as we were celebrating our 10th anniversary and left our bags at the reception. 3pm we got to our room and got ready to go out for evening. We left the hotel at 5pm and informed reception the thermostat was showing a fault code and we couldn't increase the temperature. Reception said Maintance would sort it. 7 hours later we returned to a room we couldn't increase the temperature to as no one had fixed it. It's a clean nice hotel and great location for concerts but for the price we paid I wouldn't be staying here again.
CCaroline.MGood location and customer service.
The entrance to the building was very secure.
The heating was on all the time so for those who may not like warmer temperature in the hotel may struggle but the fan was also provided.
Some pealed off wallpaper of the walls, permanent streaks on the bathroom mirror and burnt mark on the bathtub.
Overall - good, thank you!
TTomoko M 0926Location, location and location! The location of the hotel is excellent – just a 30-second walk from Piccadilly Gardens, which is an easy walking distance from Piccadilly Station as well as Victori Station. The hotel is situated just in the CENTRE of the centre of Manchester.
The interior of the hotel’s public areas is also very gorgeous, and a twin room I stayed was spacious and comfortable. However, the building itself seems quite old and the windows are not double-glazed. Therefore, I tend to think that it would be rather cold in the room in winter.
It would be ideal if the breakfast started at 7:00am, instead of 7:30am on weekdays. I actually had to give up full English breakfast, unfortunately, because I had to catch a train just after 8:00am. For guests who stay in the hotel on a business trip, having breakfast at 7:00am would be nice, as it gives them plenty of time in the morning before going to work.

GGuest UserSpent one night here as I was travelling to a match in Old Trafford. The stadium is only 10 minute walk away. I requested a quiet room as I had my young son with me. I must say that they certainly did accommodate me. The room was clean and very small. The bed was very comfortable. One tip, if you want to charge your phone and use it while lying in bed, bring an extra long phone charger cable, as the only socket in the room is under the TV, which is in the corner of the room Its a maybe, that I will stay again. I got it for a great price. Overall, happy with stay. It is the basic of basic hotels! Heard from other that the tram can be loud, but I never heard it. Gregs shop next door in petrol station was handy.
RRachelIt was a really comfortable bed, and clean sheets and good pillows. The bathroom was clean, garden and outside untidy. Friendly staff though not sure where to go for help, no reception desk
