"This is a comfortable hotel on the Mall Rd with great views looking over Shimla. Being an old hotel the room was large with plenty of space. There was a huge comfortable bed with nice bedding and pillows. The bathroom had plenty of hot water ( although no sink plug). It was all very clean. The furnishings and decor could probably do with an update, it looks a little 1990’s. The room didn’t have any heating so I’m not sure if this is centrally controlled and only on the winter, but I was given a fan heater when I complained the room was cold. The room has tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge. There was a constant supply of bottled water each day. There is a restaurant that did a very good breakfast for around £5. I had dinner in there one night which was also very good and clearly requested by non residents as well as residents. There’s a good outside bar with live music. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is near the tourist lift on the Mall rd and a short walk to the main attractions of Christ Church and the Ridge area. I’d be happy to stay here again."

"The property is nice and the staff are courteous and helpful. We were greeted with welcome drinks and smiles. The doorman and the bell boy were exceptionally helpful. We were late to arrive at the hotel and that didn't pose any problem. We had booked a family suite and the kids were eager to lay down after an 8.5 hrs drive to kufri. Having said that, my review will only highlight points which I feel that require improvement. 1. The most expensive suite booked bu it lacked the valley views. We opened up the curtains just to find some odd construction going on, and just a plain partially plastered wall from the second room. 2. The second room just had a WC and no bath area, could have been easily managed. 3. The WC of the second room had no effective exhaust fan. 4. The concept of bar cum recreation area was good, it could also have some more board games. 5. Some of the tables of the restaurant were very wobbly. The restaurant staff was very helpful even though understaffed and overworked; and and the layout was very good."

"The Views Well, there are quite a few great things about this property and its service. The mesmerizing views are the first thing to mention. Simply sitting back, admiring the scenery, and getting lost in the beauty around you can easily take up most of your time here. Surrounded by green pine trees, lush mountains, and faraway snow-clad peaks touched by hints of sunlight, the entire atmosphere feels magical. Add to that the cool breeze, and it becomes an experience you would never want to leave. The Stay We stayed in the Premium Valley View Room with Balcony, and I would strongly recommend choosing a room with a balcony. You simply should not miss the experience of sitting outside and admiring the early morning sunrise. The room was spacious, with plenty of room to move around comfortably ***** with a large, cozy bed. It had all the essential amenities one looks for — clean linens, a television, tea/coffee maker, and more. The bathroom was equally spacious and stocked with all the necessary toiletries. Overall, the stay was extremely comfortable, peaceful, and relaxing. The Amenities The Taj brand truly lived up to expectations when it came to in-house amenities. The highlight was undoubtedly the heated/temperature-controlled swimming pool. It was clean, well-maintained, and maintained at the perfect temperature. There was also a small temperature-controlled jacuzzi. Sitting in warm water while enjoying the cool weather outside gives you an incredibly relaxing feeling that’s difficult to describe. Apart from the pool area, the property also offers an indoor games room, movie hall, toddler play area, and video game consoles — enough to keep guests entertained throughout the day. Food and Service This was the highlight of our stay. The food here is excellent, and the service that accompanies it is truly exceptional. The buffet spread was wholesome, and the à la carte menu offered a wide variety of options. A special mention to Mr. Bhandari, who was always there whenever we needed anything. Every request was attended to promptly and with a smile. Due to our dietary restrictions, Jain meals were specially prepared for us. We were also served some authentic local Himachali dishes prepared specially by the chef. The staff was always courteous, warm, and eager to help. This level of hospitality is genuinely rare to experience. Overall A complete paisa vasool experience at this wonderful property. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing luxury stay amidst breathtaking natural beauty."

"Loved the service and helpfulness of the staff. It was top notch. What was a problem was the approach to the property. Cars don’t come up to the property because it’s restricted and they drop you 200 metres from the property. And that 200 metres is a steep ascent. So whenever you step out you have to encounter that steep walk while returning. And this property is not at all suitable for our parents. They will not be able to make that steep ascent."
