"The price-quality ratio is good. However, the walls are made of paper, and the insulation is very poor (I could clearly hear conversations, but not my neighbors'). "Everyone was very kind. The room was clean and relatively new. We were given work clothes, but at this time of year the chanchanko in the room was a bit chilly. There were many different types of food, but they were delicious. Especially the desserts. The water in the large public bath was very smooth and made my skin feel silky smooth. I didn't take a bath in the morning, so I don't know what the view was like. It took about 20 minutes to get to the Shimanto River submerged bridge."

"The hotel is located on a mountain, with great view of river and valley. The hotel have both Japanese and Western style room, with a safe. Parking is free. As the hotel is on a mountain, there’s little light pollution and a great place to watch stars, when the sky is clear. There’s an Observatory nearby, but we missed it as it closes every Tuesday and that’s the only day we had with a clear sky. The onsen is small but authentic. Our package included two Japanese meals, which was of good quality and different on each day. For an onsen hotel, it’s really great value for money."

"This is the hotel I stayed at when I visited Nakamura, Shimanto City, Kochi Prefecture. It's about a 20-minute walk from Nakamura Station, but it's in the center of Shimanto City, and there are many restaurants nearby, so I had no trouble finding something to eat or do sightseeing. Breakfast was a buffet at the restaurant on the first floor, but it was relatively delicious. There was a large hot spring bath on the fourth floor, and when I soaked in the hot water, it was slippery, like an eel in the Shimanto River. Since there was only one bath, men and women were required to take turns using different times, which was a bit inconvenient."

"This authentic accommodation was a highlight on our Japan trip, nestled in the countryside a short drive from the Shimanto River. The staff were helpful and friendly, using Google Translate were necessary to bridge the language gap. We felt looked after and well informed about what the booking had to offer, including a gorgeous restaurant, outside flower garden and relaxed café. Our room was made complete with tatami mats and all required amenities, this was the biggest room we had the pleasure of staying in on our holiday by a good margin. Though we were unable to make use of the public bath due to our busy schedule, it is open to guests. I highly recommend Shimanto no Yado, our stay elevated our trip and made it very special."
