Due to changes in our travel plans, we had to book our three-night stay separately in August. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient, ensuring we stayed in the same room throughout our visit.
Daniel at the front desk was particularly helpful, providing us with valuable information about the hotel and the surrounding area. A big thank you to him!
The hotel is centrally located in the Nanshan area and is quite new and very clean. There is a subway station and plenty of dining options nearby.
Our room featured a modern design and layout, with plenty of power and USB outlets, as well as smart voice control. Free self-laundry facilities are available, which may be staffed during busy hours.
The breakfast area is spacious and offers a variety of Chinese and Western dishes, along with fruits, all served buffet-style.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

Room is huge over 100 m² , clean, and the staff were very courteous. Hotel is just next to the mall and tons of restaurants in the area. My only complaint was the hair dryer was a little cheap . But overall, it’s was acceptable if you plan your day at the OCT Harbour
I rarely go out of my way to leave a positive review for a hotel, but this one truly deserves it. We checked in quite late, and the front desk upgraded our room. What's more, they didn't even ask us to leave a review; this positive feedback is purely based on our excellent overall experience. The hotel also features an outdoor relaxation area and a gym. Moreover, having a trash can right on the desk in the room was a very thoughtful touch. It's also very accommodating for business travelers, with a dedicated workspace and an ergonomic office chair. Overall, it's genuinely impressive.

The Shenzhen Venice Indigo Hotel, owned by OCT, underwent a major renovation in 2022, transforming from a Crowne Plaza to an Indigo. The refreshed lobby and public areas are quite successful. However, not all guest rooms have been fully refurbished yet. This time, I stayed in what is currently the best suite, which has just been renovated. But it used to receive a lot of complaints from guests due to the hotel's rather arbitrary naming of its room types!
Forget fancy names like 'Presidential Suite,' 'Imperial Suite,' or 'Ambassador Suite.' Even 'Executive Suite' or 'View Suite' would have been perfectly fine, wouldn't they? But this hotel insisted on being different! They directly named it the 'Guest Restroom Suite.' Perhaps they wanted to state straightforwardly that this suite also features a guest restroom, but how odd does that name sound? What do you think? 😳
Perhaps due to the sheer number of complaints, this suite has finally been renamed recently! Now it's called 'One-Bedroom Suite, King Bed, Living Room, Guest Restroom'? Okay, at least it sounds much more normal now, but did they absolutely *have* to mention the guest restroom?
Actually, I think it's a valid point. After all, it's a renovation of an older hotel, so even the suite isn't particularly spacious. But despite its small size, it's fully equipped; this is, in fact, a proper one-bedroom, one-living room suite with two bathrooms.
Compared to the old rooms, the newly renovated guest rooms feature a significantly different style. You can tell it's an Indigo hotel the moment you step inside. The furniture and decor blend contemporary fashion with vintage elements, retaining some traditional motifs while being exquisitely refined. The choice of lighting fixtures, in particular, shows great care.
Upon entering, the guest restroom is on the left, and the living room is straight ahead, with a standalone mini-bar cabinet. Complimentary Jing Tian purified water is provided, along with a capsule coffee machine, DE drip coffee, and instant coffee – a very complete selection. However, the basic tea bags feel a bit cheap. A retro green De'Longhi kettle is provided, and the mini-fridge contents are complimentary. On top of the mini-bar, there's also a golden winged lion statue, a symbolic emblem of Venice.
Although the living room is compact, it still accommodates a lovely sofa set and a standard desk.
Due to the limited bedroom space, there's no sofa by the window. The bed-end bench is placed near the bathtub. A wardrobe acts as a partial partition between the bedroom and the master bathroom, creating an open-plan design. The wardrobe, however, is rather small and only provides space for one suitcase. The advantage is that it opens from both sides, allowing access from both the bedroom and the master bathroom.
The master bathroom vanity is spacious but features only a single basin. The hairdryer is a Dyson. The toilet in the master bathroom is a smart toilet, while the 'guest restroom' that the hotel repeatedly emphasized has a regular toilet. The artificial stone bathtub comes with a caddy, headrest, bath salts, etc. It's also a view bathtub, with the Window of the World's Eiffel Tower visible outside. However, the windows were so dirty that it severely impacted the view. Fortunately, the Executive Lounge has a terrace.
The shower stall is not large but features a footrest design. Overall, despite the relatively small absolute area, all essential functions are well-provided. The renovation is quite pleasing to the eye. I look forward to all guest rooms being fully renovated soon.
Special mention and praise to staff member Xiao Ao.
The lobby is upscale and stylish, and the rooms are impeccably clean and bright – truly nothing to fault! The soundproofing is excellent, ensuring a wonderfully peaceful night's sleep. The expansive view from the window also lifted my spirits.
”Little Bear Butler” was incredibly thoughtful! Their service was impeccable, with staff always smiling and incredibly proactive. They immediately offered kids' slippers and toothbrushes when they saw we had a baby. The gym equipment was plentiful and new! Treadmills and strength training machines were all available, and most importantly, everything was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. It was great to be able to use fresh equipment anytime, allowing me to stick to my workout routine even during the holiday – truly impressive!
The room amenities included makeup remover wipes, an eye mask, and earplugs. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly. The attention to detail was absolutely perfect.
I will definitely book this hotel again on my next visit to the Science Park! Highly recommend it to families with kids, fitness enthusiasts, and business travelers alike – truly one of the most user-centric hotels I've ever experienced!

Hotel: Nanshan Shangri-La, Shenzhen
Stay Date: Recently
Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (5/5)
My recent stay at the Nanshan Shangri-La was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in an atmosphere of tranquility and luxury that lived up to the Shangri-La name.
Here are the highlights of our visit:
1. Impeccable Service & Warm Welcome:
The service was the standout feature. We were fortunate to be taken care of by Hebe and her colleagues at the Horizon Club, whose service consistently went above and beyond. They always offered assistance with a genuine desire to help. I was particularly touched on one occasion when my Alipay wasn't working to pay the taxi driver; a staff member at the door helped me pay the driver, which relieved me from the hassle and embarrassment.
2. Stunning Room with a View:
We stayed in a Horizon Club Room with a breathtaking panoramic view of the Shenzhen Bay area. The room was not the most spacious but was immaculately clean and beautifully appointed. The decoration showed great attention to detail and redefined the concept of luxury. The bathroom amenities were from John Masters; they smelled wonderful but were a bit difficult to wash off as they are oil-based.
3. Exceptional Dining Experiences:
The breakfast buffet on the 66th floor was phenomenal. The variety was astounding, featuring everything from freshly baked pastries and a dedicated noodle station to Western classics and healthy options. The Horizon Club lounge was a peaceful haven with delicious and delicate canapés at afternoon tea and a sumptuous dinner during the happy hour in the evenings. I found the food there to be among the very best offered by top-notch hotels in the Greater Bay Area (GBA).
4. The Pool and Recreation Facilities:
The hotel’s indoor infinity pool is a masterpiece. Swimming while looking out over the bay through floor-to-ceiling windows was a surreal and relaxing experience. The gym was huge and well-equipped. However, the temperature was a bit warm for a genuine workout.
5. Prime Location:
The location in Nanshan is perfect for both business and leisure. It's situated in the Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base, a future major commercial and business district in Shenzhen's Nanshan District. As the area is still under construction, the immediate surroundings are not yet fully engaging. However, it is still very easy and convenient to get to major malls nearby.
Verdict:
The Nanshan Shangri-La is more than just a hotel; it's a destination. It perfectly balances business-like efficiency with resort-like relaxation. We left feeling completely pampered and recharged. I would not hesitate to return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shenzhen.
Perfect for: Luxury travelers, couples, business trips, and special occasions.
My top choice for business trips to Shenzhen. Its prime location makes food delivery and taxis incredibly convenient. Parking is free, which is great, but it's a shame they no longer offer complimentary car washing. Being able to choose your pillow type is a thoughtful touch and a definite improvement. As always, the cleanliness is impeccable.

First and foremost, I want to give a special, *special* shout-out to front desk staff member Miller! Her service was absolutely textbook-perfect. During check-in, she not only processed everything efficiently and quickly, but she also proactively and thoughtfully upgraded us to a room with a city night view, based on our preferences. This unexpected surprise instantly made us feel valued and special.
**Room:** The room was spacious, bright, and spotless. The bedding was definitely high-thread-count cotton; it felt like sleeping on clouds, ensuring a restful night's sleep until morning.
**Dining:** The breakfast selection was extensive, ranging from authentic Chinese dim sum to delicate Western pastries, and everything was of exceptionally high quality.
**Location & Facilities:** The location is superb, with easy access to transportation.
The hotel boasts an excellent location, right by the main road and easy to find, just a 10-minute walk from the subway station. It's surrounded by universities, offering beautiful greenery and a peaceful atmosphere. The front desk staff were professional and attentive, truly making us feel at home. Our room on the 33rd floor offered an expansive view: the university campus nearby and a skyline of high-rises in the distance – a perfect blend of tranquility and urban vibrancy. The room itself was comfortably laid out, with relatively new facilities, including a separate toilet and shower, and a smart toilet. The decor was practical and stylishly minimalist, impeccably clean and tidy – exactly my taste. I particularly enjoyed having a coffee machine, allowing me to sit by the window, sip coffee, and simply relax. Convenient dining options are available downstairs, catering to all tastes and budgets. My main reason for this trip was a leisurely visit to Talent Park, which is about a 25 RMB taxi ride away. It's also a pleasant 3 km walk for a post-dinner stroll, or easily accessible by bike. Overall, it was a truly wonderful and relaxing weekend experience. I'll definitely be back!

We recently stayed at the InterContinental Shenzhen with our family—our 3-year-old daughter, 12-year-old son, my wife, and me—and we absolutely loved it! The hotel is wonderfully child-friendly, with activities that kept our kids delighted throughout. The pirate-themed swimming pool was a standout; our children didn’t want to leave! Our daughter especially adored the train that circles the swimming play area, adding a magical touch to their fun.
The gym area is excellent, offering a great space for adults to unwind and stay active. The bar and restaurant exceeded our expectations, and breakfast was superb, featuring an impressive selection of both Chinese and Western dishes to suit every taste.
A big thank you to @Dafne 达芙妮 for making our entire stay so special — her thoughtful service truly enhanced our experience. We have been returning to this hotel since our son was 2 years old, and thanks to Dafne, this visit was extra memorable. We are already looking forward to our next stay!

CChung ManBecause of the wind, I was a hotel near the subway station. I was renovated near the station. There was no elevator at Exit A of Baishizhou. It was not convenient to push the BB car and the luggage. Going to the hotel without opening the elevator, you have to carry your luggage. It is not convenient. When I entered the room, I saw that there was instant noodles in the electric water. I should cook the noodles with the first hand. You don’t clean the left hand first. I asked the cleaning sister to ask me to wash it myself, but I was too clean and oily to wash it myself. Finally, I changed one to me. But I don't dare to drink water too much, drink a bottle of water.
The room is clean, no hair and urine smell, if you can wash it with disinfectant, it will be more fragrant, there is a tea set to make tea, but you don't dare to use it too much.
Breakfast is very ordinary bowl of white porridge, it is recommended to add a higher-level coffee machine, now too sweet will be buried sugar.
But the price is more than 350 yuan, counting, can not be too high, I hope to keep clean, I will come again. There is free laundry, but the dryer should be bad, dry, please replace the new, those two washes for two hours.
The receptionist was very polite at night and forgot how to name it. Will supply me with paper towels, have patience, thank you.

MMrDrunThe room was very clean, really great, very close to Window of the World, next to the subway. I walked there after playing in the town for half a day after leaving the subway station. It's super close.
The boss was very nice and upgraded me to a street view room, which not only broadened my vision but also made the whole room look more spacious and brighter. Sitting on the bay window, with a cup of coffee in hand, you can enjoy the view of the window.
In short, this bay window street view room gave me a perfect living experience. Whether it is the leisurely time in the early morning or the quiet time at night, it can make me feel extremely happy and satisfied! 💖
