Grand House Shaoxing was an 4000 years old village which had an ancient history, villagers surname Si (姒）were Dayu‘s (大禹)tomb guards for thousands of years. Now it is as a beautiful hotel with a lot of amenities ! Breakfast had many local specialties were very delicious ! It’s also had a big restaurant and wedding banquet hall ! Room is beautiful as in my photos. Hotel located only 4 KM from city centre, as taxi only cost less A$7. We stayed 3 nights, enjoyed peaceful country life, also the very busy tourist spot ! I must mention all the stuff in the hotel are so helpful, specially the young man who greeted us on arrival in the rain at night, helping us changed room because I can’t get to upstairs loft ! I hope more tourists visit Shaoxing and stay in this hotel, because it is a totally different experience from big city like Shanghai or Beijing, and you will not regret it.

Ended up staying an extra night and upgraded to a two queen room. It was worth the upgrade having the extra space of a little house on the street.

Surrounding like in previous ages, if you want to live like in former Chinese village style but with comfort and affordable price, that’s the hotel worth to try. Amazing huge park and amenities around. Definitely worth to visit for 1-2 days. Unfortunately no English, but could use my low level small talk chinese . Would go again. Very good breakfast!

Very good resort hotel, selected as one of the world's 100 local style hotels. The hotel's environment and facilities are great, you can walk around inside, and there is also a commercial street. The hotel is divided into Phase I and Phase II. The rooms in Phase II are newly built and have a better environment. The courtyard villa room I stayed in this time has a separate door, a living room and a courtyard. The hotel's service housekeeper Tingting is also great. In short, I will stay here again next time I come to Shaoxing.

Since I decided to go to Shaoxing for the May Day holiday, I chose Dayu Guantang without hesitation. I was attracted by the hotel itself as a holiday destination and the "one family, one household" scene described by some guests on Ctrip comments. I was immediately attracted to it. The first thunder from the check-in was that I didn't book Phase 1. To be honest, can Ctrip mark the room type? It doesn't matter. Fortunately, there are single-family villas in Phase 1. The front desk was very friendly to help increase the price and give me a room. The concierge was also very good to help carry the luggage🧳. The second thunder: There were tubes of skin care products used by the previous guest on the sink. I felt a little uncomfortable at the time! There were dead flies on the soap box... The bathroom drains very slowly, there is no anti-slip mat, and the room smells musty... The third thunder: At 9:30 in the evening, I heard the sound of "dong dong dong" running around, endlessly, and loudly playing. I was shocked. How could there be a single-family villa? I took out the hand-drawn map given by the hotel and took a closer look. It turned out that it was not a single-family villa but a spliced ​​villa, and there were guests upstairs! I gave feedback to the housekeeper and called the front desk. The aunt also came to listen. After a long time of tossing and turning, the sound weakened. I came again early the next morning. I really didn't have the energy to be annoyed. I just endured it under the quilt. The housekeeper was still very responsible in solving the problem during the whole process! The fourth thunder: How can the breakfast of a resort hotel be so bad? There is only one moving line in the dining area, and salads, cold dishes and porridge occupy one-third. There is only one stir-fried vegetable for hot dishes!! Yams, potatoes, spring rolls, French fries and other things are actually two plates of one variety to make up the number? The steamed small meat dumplings don't have a drop of meat hahaha🤣 The whole breakfast has no Shaoxing characteristics. The soup of the meat wonton is plain water. The noodles are as bad as they can be. In addition to eggs and steamed Shengzhou buns, there is nothing to eat! The coffee machine is good, with many varieties, you can choose the sugar yourself, and the coffee beans are not bad! The dining table is very dirty, and no one wipes it. Flies🪰 brother rests on the ingredients next to the tofu pudding... The whole restaurant management is a mess. The most speechless thing is that I went to breakfast late the next day and the stall was closed, but the waiter was very friendly and brought me eggs and corn. So I got a cup of coffee and sat there. As a result, at 10:30, the entire restaurant was shut down on time. I and other guests at the scene were shocked and speechless. Does our hotel not want guests to stay for even a minute? Is this an order to evict guests? I heard a guest coming out of the toilet and saying that he was groping in the dark with a flashlight.  The fifth thunder was when checking out. I heard that the guests at the counter next to me were also complaining that the sound insulation was particularly poor. The girl at the front desk gave us souvenirs and hoped that we could give them a good review on the platform. At this moment, I realized that this is how the high score came out. Of course, after so many complaints, it is not that this hotel is useless. There are still many things worth mentioning. The first is the natural environment and architectural appearance of the hotel itself, which is very consistent with the style of Shaoxing, antique, and there are also Wupeng boats inside the hotel. If you want to experience Wupeng boats, you don’t have to squeeze around at the scenic spots outside. Second, the hotel held many interactive activities during the May Day holiday, such as open-air movies, balloon piercing, camping coffee and other games. Third, there is a small door that leads directly to the hotel and Dayu Mausoleum, which is more convenient for tourists to visit. Finally, let me say something from the bottom of my heart. The quality of hotel operations does not depend on the apologies and smiles of grassroots employees. Exposing problems and doing a good job of service remediation, reviewing and solving problems to improve service quality, and guests do not demand perfection but are disappointed with the accumulated problems and accumulate emotions. Beautiful photos can deceive the eyes, but the experience is indeed very honest. In fact, there are not many good hotels in Shaoxing, which is a pity.

The room is clean and tidy. The scenery of the garden ancient town is pleasant. There is no need to crowd. It is very comfortable. The waiter cleans the room every day, replaces daily necessities and drinks. It is generally very comfortable. The breakfast is very rich and has Shaoxing characteristics. There are Wupeng boats and old-fashioned games in the scenic area, parent-child games, and the antique style is very good.

Dayu Kaiyuan Hotel is a hidden gem in the city. White walls, black tiles, small bridges and flowing water, ancestral halls, stages, patios, ancient streets, stone alleys and other scenery complement each other, with a strong Jiangnan water town residential style. The hotel service is considerate and thoughtful, and the WeChat group butler service responds quickly to meet customer needs in a timely manner. The hotel staff greets guests warmly and proactively, making guests feel warm and at home. The room hygiene is good. I noticed a detail that the hair dropped in the shower room we used was cleaned when we came back to use it.

Special thanks to housekeeper Wang Hongmei. I felt at home. The housekeeper service of Kaiyuan is really excellent. The scenery of the entire Kaiyuan scenic area in Shaoxing is beautiful. The Super Wings theme room also provides snacks and welcome fruits. Staying in Kaiyuan, there is a Yue Opera performance while eating at Yujia Courtyard on Saturdays. There is a road nearby leading to the Dayu Mausoleum Scenic Area, which is very convenient. The check-out was delayed, and the swimsuit and swimming ring left in the hotel were sent back. The holiday experience is particularly good, the environment is good and the service is good. I will come again next time

The second phase balcony twin room is clean and quiet, and the style is very local. The hotel's breakfast is rich and varied, so it's best to go early to avoid the peak. The hotel has its own play area, which is not crowded and is very suitable for taking the elderly and children to hang out. The food in Yujia Courtyard is quite satisfactory. There is an entrance to Dayu Mausoleum directly, and you can call a shuttle bus to go anywhere in the hotel. I added the butler Xiaolong's WeChat, and any questions during the stay will be answered and helped to deal with enthusiastically. The service staff also greeted me warmly. The overall stay experience was very good and cost-effective

The hotel building is very distinctive and antique. The renovation of the traditional residential buildings in the first phase has a unique Jiangnan charm, and the new Chinese style in the second phase also has a unique flavor. The rooms are very large. The breakfast is rich in variety and tastes very good, with a high cost performance. The staff is warm and hospitable, and Yingming and Qiuhao are very friendly, which brought a perfect end to our family travel accommodation experience.

My family had stayed at Dayu Kaiyuan Guantang before and praised it highly. So when I had the idea of ​​traveling to Shaoxing last year, I stocked up room vouchers on Double Eleven. I came to Shaoxing for May Day and chose Dayu Kaiyuan Guantang. I chose a Kaiyuan twin room for 1 day and a garden villa for 2 days. The Kaiyuan twin room is in Phase 1 of the hotel, right in the building where you check in, and it is modern in style. The garden villa is in Phase 2 of the hotel, with a separate door and a separate building. There will be a shuttle bus to the door of the villa. The villa has two floors, and the overall style is more like the Republic of China. Even the doors and keys are old-fashioned. The stinky tofu and noodles provided by the hotel package are pretty good overall. The hotel is very large, and many activities will be held inside. There is also a photography shop with its own. Many people take pictures, so you have to make an appointment in advance. But the scenery of the hotel is also very good if you take pictures by yourself. The hotel has its own children's playground, which is in the breakfast room. It is a must-have for parents and children, and it is a must-have for liberating parents. The hotel service is particularly good, especially the waiter Feng Lin. We left a hair dryer in the room.
