We chose Capella for our first visit to Shanghai. Truly, it is a charming and supremely tranquil hotel in the heart of the city. The warmth and eagerness of the staff to assist us left us deeply moved. Every detail in our villa was meticulously and elegantly arranged, from the placement of the slippers to the absolutely silent light switches. We've stayed in many luxurious hotels and received beautiful luggage tags upon checkout, but the farewell gift from Capella left an impression far warmer and more memorable in our hearts. A truly elegant and exquisite experience.

I had a wonderful two days. The service was excellent, and the staff were enthusiastic and helpful. A special thank you to Ethan and Irina for drawing two greeting cards for my pets! Ethan even gave me a souvenir before leaving, which was very nice! The spa was also quite good. I tried several treatments and bought a favorite doll. If I had any suggestions, I'd like to see better hygiene. The furniture showed some noticeable wear, like the paint on the small round table peeling, a permanent stain on the full-length mirror in the bedroom, and some of the pillows looking a bit worn. If these details were addressed, it would be much better. However, the overall experience was quite good, and I'll definitely be back.

Reminiscent of the Shikumen houses I lived in as a child, the Capella Jianyeli has been beautifully restored and renovated, bringing back vivid memories of its red brick past. The rooms are available in one- and two-bedroom options, perfect for a family staycation. The service lacked initiative, following procedures in a routine manner. There was no sense of caring, and it's still a ways from being a top-tier luxury hotel.

Many people have given high praise to Capella Shanghai, so how good is it? With this question in mind, we specially chose this long-admired hotel when we went to Shanghai for a trip in early June this year. Capella Shanghai is located in the Xuhui Historical and Cultural Protection Area, No. 480 Jianguo West Road, Jianyeli, in the ancient Shikumen building complex. Shikumen, which first appeared in 1860, is a Shanghai-style building that combines the essence of Eastern and Western architecture. Capella Hotel, located in it, includes 55 Shikumen villas and is the only pure villa urban resort hotel in Shanghai. We chose the Shikumen Garden Twin Villa. The red brick exterior wall of the villa is covered with green plants, as if counting the years with the mottled sunlight. The room is large, 110 square meters. The villa has a total of five floors, the first floor is the living room, the second floor is the tea and entertainment room, the third floor is the bedroom, the fourth floor is the bathroom, and the roof of the fifth floor is a terrace, overlooking the Shikumen scenery. When you walk into the living room, it's like you've walked into time! The facilities in the guest rooms look old, but they are all very good modern brands, deliberately creating an ancient and luxurious visual effect; although the hotel is located in the downtown area, it is very quiet, as if you can quietly talk to the ancient times here! On the coffee table in the living room on the first floor, the welcome card written by the hotel manager has been waiting for the arrival of the guests. In addition to the white rabbit milk candy, a specialty of Shanghai, the small gift for the guests actually includes the comic book "Havoc in Heaven"! In addition, the hotel also specially presented exclusive library benefits, including drinks, snacks and beer; there are also morning and night rituals, including the historic Shanghai "Shenbao", coffee, Chinese tea and snacks; and free ironing and washing of 5 pieces of clothing, etc. There are many varieties of breakfast, and they are very delicious. In addition to the regular Chinese and Western food in high-end hotels, there are also many local snacks with Shanghai characteristics, such as wontons and steamed buns. In addition, the drinks are also great. We specially ordered red wine and champagne. At noon, we chose to dine at the French restaurant Le Comptoir de Pierre Gagnaire in the hotel. This restaurant was founded by Pierre Gagnaire, a French genius chef, and soon won one Michelin star and two black pearl diamonds. After tasting it, we sincerely felt that it was really amazing! The hotel service is great! From the check-in, all the experience is great! Including the doorman, luggage, cleaning, restaurant, bar... Among them, we must especially praise the employee Ethen Shao and the bartender Ethen at the hotel's Le Bar. Their service is professional, patient, polite and enthusiastic, giving us a very good stay experience and leaving us with unforgettable memories! In short, the stay experience at Capella Shanghai is great! Here, while enjoying the wonderful service and accommodation and dining experience, it seems to have walked into ancient times! A friend recommended me to stay at Capella. I was also here to celebrate my birthday. As soon as I walked in, it was covered with trumpet creepers. It had a very Shanghai feel. The room was a small house on the fourth floor. Each floor had a clear division of labor. The housekeeper Raven Xiaozhu was very considerate. The service was perfect. The experience was great! I will come back next time if I have the chance!

The hotel has a superior location and beautiful environment. It is midsummer, and the house is covered with trumpet creepers. The internal facilities are simple and elegant. One suite is an independent three-story building with the old Shikumen architectural style (luxury version), which has a strong Shanghai culture. The service is even better, especially Raven, who took us on a tour of the hotel after checking in. The hotel also gave us old travel photos, which is very atmospheric. The hotel breakfast is also very rich, and the restaurant is a Michelin restaurant. Friends who like Western food can try it. The surrounding environment of the hotel is beautiful and very suitable for City Walk, which is great!

The portion is large and one person cannot finish it. All tasted good. I also tried the French dinner, lobster! Super delicious food, highly recommended. Andre and Cai Cai (I don’t know if I heard it right) took good care of us. There is also the bar, the cocktails are delicious, and the way they speak is like a robot, which is very funny🤭 Room facilities: clean, fresh, and very considerately cleaned every day.
