Very pretty hotel, in an old building. Only 5 minutes walk to subway lines 10 and 11. The rooms are small, but that was no problem for me. I received a welcome drink and snack, at the cosy hotel bar on the ground floor. This voucher was given to me after I asked at the reception, showing the booking confirmation mentioning this welcome drink. The friendly receptionists don’t speak English, but they use translation apps.

Overall OK. Cleaning can be improved: pay more attention to edges and corners at walls and floors, table tops.

Wonderful little hotel with lots of character. Great location. Easy access to the metro. Terrible internet but that wouldn’t stop me staying there again

It’s a lovely and cute boutique hotel. The restaurant excels at creative fusion of East Asian and French cuisine. Lovely ambience too. The room was a bit small and needs some fresh up. Chipped paintings for example.

Great spot, very quiet and nearby lots of sights

The hotel is cute and in a quiet back yard. The staff doesn't speak English and they do not appreciate visitors staying for longer. The room does not get cleaned every day. The breakfast is the same every day, and does not have much taste. There is no washing machine in house and also no place for gymnastics – it's really just a place for one to two nights. The neighbors can be heard almost word by word, as the walls are thin.

The place is cozy and silent, neighborhood is peaceful. Food options could be improved as travellers seek convenience to have quick food.

I booked at Soho Garden Villa because I was traveling with my dog and needed a place to have a day of rest in Shanghai before continuing our trip. Booking for an additional dog was extremely easy, and the staff at the hotel were all extremely kind and helpful despite our language barrier. I am very grateful!! In terms of space, the room I had was quite basic (small) size-wise and it would be a squeeze for more than 2 nights. If I had been staying for other reasons I might have asked for a view. That said, what existed what quite comfortable and very functional. The fruit and snacks were a nice additional touch. (I would just suggest that the refrigerator be colder.) The location is excellent, especially for exploring the French Concession area and generally walking around. Especially true if you have a dog (or any travel companion who enjoys a walk!).

I spend two days at the hotel before moving into the university dorms. The hotel room was super nice and spacious and allowed me to leave all my bags laying around the room comfortably. Really recommend this hotel!

Very classic and silent hotel in a high class neighbourhood. The best price to get this feeling in Shanghai. At the same time convenient located to reach Hongshao Station.

Super nice and friendly staff. They are so considerate and prepared gifts for both of my kids. Kids loved this place. Fresh flower and cute cat. The front desk is professional and responsive and they gave us more than enough bottled spring water and traditional Chinese snacks everyday (which kids love so much). Great location, wonderful experience and super recommend!

Top location in the French concession. An old French imperial Villa. Outside really nice looking. The interior is a bit old but OK. nice staff.

The front desk staff were friendly and kind. My room had a window facing a wall of the building next door, which isn't pleasant for a one-week stay but I wasn't there too often. The cleaning staff were also friendly and attentive and the room was cleaned daily. The big and soft butterscotch cat is a great addition to any hotel and the cafe out front is very popular. The setting overall is lovely. I didn't eat at the hotel but there are several cafes and restaurants nearby and the neighbourhood is great for exploring on foot or by bicycle.
