We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring. The location is extremely strategic—right next to East Nanjing Pedestrian Street and only about a 7–10 minute walk to the Bund, which made sightseeing and shopping very convenient.
The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with recommendations. The hotel also provides a laundry room with washer, dryer, and detergent, as well as a small gym with basic equipment. We didn’t make use of these amenities during our stay, but it’s nice to know they’re available for guests.
Overall, this hotel offers excellent value with its combination of comfort, convenience, and thoughtful facilities. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai.

One of the staff specially took us to explore the different types of room so we can decide which room type to take which we really appreciate!! The location is so accessible!!We can reach the main tourist attractions like Xintiandi, Yuyuan and Nanjing road within 10 mins by their cab Didi and costs less than USD$3 only and the pick up and drop off point is just in front of the hotel which is so easy for us!!They even offer free popcorn and drinks and amenities like travel sunblock cream, soap, floss, body cream throughout our stay!!All of the staff were exceptionally warm, attentive, and professional — always greeting us with genuine smiles and going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable such as helping us to book ******* delivery and helping us to collect our taobao parcels.
Our room was spotless clean, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully prepared such as the toilet seat with a warm function. Every detail, from the amenities to the housekeeping, reflected the hotel’s high standards and care for guests.
Special mention to the front desk team— their friendliness and helpful recommendations truly made our stay even more enjoyable.

GGuest UserMy friends and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff were incredibly nice, friendly, and went out of their way to help us with all our requests.
Our room was spotlessly clean, modern, and very comfortable, providing the perfect retreat after long days of exploring.
The biggest highlight for our group was the complimentary shuttle service. The free rides to Disney and the Wild Animal Park were a massive convenience and saved us a lot of time and hassle arranging transportation. To top it all off, they also offer a shuttle to Pudong Airport, which made our departure completely stress-free.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, especially friends and families visiting the theme parks. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip!

SS_WongThe hotel is located close to a mall with great variety of food options. It is relatively close to Yu garden and key sights around Shanghai. The hotel provides free shuttle services to certain must go sites in Shanghai.
The stay was comfortable with excellent bedding and the room is very clean. As we requested for completely smoke free room, it was indeed smoke-free. The items in the bar fridge were free for consumption too. The service staff were friendly and approachable, and will always try their best to make it comfortable for all of us.
Highly recommend this hotel for families, couples and even business travellers.

GGuest UserThe room was more spacious than I'd imagined, and the view from the window was quite nice, with Jing'an Temple visible in the distance. The walk-through area in the room was just wide enough to open a suitcase, leaving little extra space, but it was perfectly fine for a solo trip.
Soundproofing in the room wasn't great; noises from outside the door were quite clear (though this is a common drawback of hostels). This might be an issue for light sleepers.
Transportation is incredibly convenient, as it's only about a three-minute walk from the subway station, which really helps save on travel expenses.
**Cleanliness:** The shared bathrooms were exceptionally clean; an attendant would clean them immediately after each use, which was very reassuring.
**Service:** Upon arrival, a staff member showed me to my room and introduced the facilities. The lobby offered quite a few amenities; I recall there was an ice machine, and I even borrowed an umbrella from the front desk when it rained during my stay.
Overall, I was very satisfied and would happily choose to stay here again on my next visit to Shanghai.

Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, you can admire Lujiazui's dazzling skyline. By day, the Oriental Pearl Tower and the financial district complement each other; by night, leaning against the railing, you can take in the glittering splendor of the Huangpu River. My parents took so many photos of the view, repeatedly saying, 'This view is unforgettable for a lifetime.'
The service was incredibly heartwarming and attentive to every detail. From the doorman promptly taking our luggage when we arrived, to the front desk quickly processing our check-in and patiently explaining the facilities, and even room service helping us with our takeout – the entire experience was thoughtful yet unobtrusive, perfectly catering to the needs of a family trip. I especially want to praise the Executive Lounge – the thoughtful provision of five meals a day was ideal for families! The breakfast was the best I've had at any hotel, and the exquisite desserts at afternoon tea, along with the hot dishes and drinks at dinner, made my parents comfortable and saved us the hassle of searching for restaurants everywhere. It was truly excellent value for money.
The room amenities also exuded quality. The bedding was so soft that you'd want to fall asleep as soon as you touched it. The double vanity in the bathroom meant my family could get ready without feeling crowded, and the view outside transformed the room into a 'viewing platform.' This staycation was fantastic. Was told to call after landing - no answer. Tried messaging on we chat took a while for response. No clear directions. So arrived at exit after clearing customs and collecting bags. Then told to go back upstairs to gate 3 departures. Waited out there for a long time. Over half an hour. Many other hotels collected people with many others coming and going while we waited. One hotel had 3 vehicles with their name on it pick up patrons in the time we were standing there. I can now see why we were the only ones going to Novotel. Clearly the driver did not leave the hotel after long after we advised we had arrived. When he did turn up in a rundown silver van with no name on it. He drove like a mad man and dangerously. He think he was trying to make up for time. He was rather rude when he dropped us off, not a word from him. Check in experience was no better. Two girls on reception were talking **** about us - yes I had my translator on after explaining our check in details to them. Very poor service and actually unprofessional behaviour. Room service had finished so we weren't able to get anything to eat. Did not feel able nor did I want to speak with front desk again to ask for assistance in ordering some food. Only staff that was friendly or even acknowledged us was the lovely cleaning lady on our floor the following morning. Breakfast was okay. Laundry was a mess from another lady who pulled out all her washing dripping wet and made a huge puddle on the floor. If there had been a towel I would have cleaned up her mess! We wish we had gone straight to the hotel we had originally planned to but opted for the Novotel due to close proximity to airport for our late flight back into Shanghai. We would have been better off going straight to the original hotel over an hour away. I believe we still would have arrived earlier. We have stayed at Novotel Auckland Airport in New Zealand a few times and the service is impeccable. Unfortunately Novotel Shanghai Pudong Chuansha is not a good representation of the Novotel brand. Also considering this an airport hotel with many tourists likely utilizing it - very few things have English translation including the vending machine. The hotel building itself is nice and the only positive. Won't be back - step up your game. I usually do rave reviews and very rarely do negative unless warranted.

223cruzOverall the lane house is decent set within a lively Shanghai Lane House experience. We lived in 2 for 2 months when we first moved to Shanghai. This was our return trip to revisit our home of 4 yrs. The initial photos for Guisu Homestay with the charming window view doesn’t match the initial sell, but the detailed photos of the actual space does. However it’s smaller than it looks, as the top loft and kitchen counts within the measurement. So if you’re a family of 4 then this is perfect since the middle room will give you space to sit. But if you are 5 with the sofa permanently done up as a bed then it’s tight. All was good except the the shower doors were a little run down and shower was gunky and could use a little redo. All in all a good experience. The host was responsive to our needs but strict on the 12noon checkout. The neighborhood and overall location is unbeatable. Close to great food and served as our center base to revisit the French Concession from Jing An. Definitely a good place if this is your first time in Shanghai.
