The Vue B&B

The Vue is perfectly placed to walk around Seward. Restaurants, bars, waterfront, and stores are all within 5-15 minutes walk. The scenery is spectacular. We stayed in the East room and had our own private porch/deck area. Views of the mountains and downtown were across the street. Spotlessly clean with a shared kitchen that is well-stocked to prepare your own meals. The owner met us upon arrival and was very informative and responsive to our needs. Thank you for providing some breakfast items (cereal, coffee, tea, half-half, orange juice), even though May is early season and the description clearly stated no breakfast until June :) We loved our stay and wishes we had booked a longer time in Seward. We felt very comfortable and will definitely stay at The Vue on our next trip to Alaska.

I recently stayed at The Vue with six other members of my family, so we had the entire place to ourselves, and it was great! We came during Fourth of July week, when Seward is the busiest. The location was perfect, and just a quick walk to downtown for all the festivities going on. Rissi and her staff did an amazing job hosting us, answering questions about the area, and providing a fully stocked fridge with everything we could want for breakfast. Highly recommend visiting Seward and staying here!

Awesome place! Was here for the 4th. Outstanding location and amazing views. Having breakfast provided was a huge plus. One of the best spots in Seward because you can walk everywhere and the restaurants are very close. Highly recommend this spot!

Best location, best parking, most comfortable, cleanest room. Small luxuries. We stayed New Years Eve, had easy access to Sea Life Center, restaurants, and the beach park to watch the fireworks. We stayed in the east unit. The kitchen was well equipped, but we got breakfast at the coffee/art shop across the street. The shared kitchen was briefly noisy in the morning, overall it was very quiet. Seward was very snowy and most restaurants were closed over New Year - more space, more sea lions and diving ducks for me. Communication with the hosts was good, mostly by text; there is a user manual and convenient signs. Room temperature was good, despite large windows. Bathroom, et cetera was spotlessly clean, bed comfortable. I want the person who furnished the unit to work on my house.

The place is very clean and the location is outstanding but there are a few things that you should realize that this is not a traditional B&B setup. Breakfast is self serve. Food is available for you to make in a well appointed kitchen. We only did cereal and coffee but there were eggs and bacon in the fridge. There were other open container food items in the fridge and in the cabinets but no way to tell what was other peoples food and what was there for guests. There is no AC so expect the rooms to be hot when the temps rise outside. We were in the West room and while we had a view from one large window, it was limited. There is no closet or furniture draws to put anything, so you'll live out of the suitcase. The room was loud. You can hear every foot step from the room above and people in the kitchen. Lastly, expect to have no interaction with the host and little to no communication from them. That said we would probably rent here again, but in the East Room.
