Sunnylea Resort

The surrounding area is actually nice, but the property itself was a huge disappointment. It looks nothing like the photos online and is very poorly maintained. The kitchen was extremely dirty — the countertops are peeling, there’s rust and mold around the sink, and many surfaces were sticky and unclean. Inside the drawers, we even found garbage and dirt left from previous guests, which clearly shows that proper cleaning is not being done. The fridge area is neglected, the doors and walls are stained, and overall the place feels outdated and unhygienic. It was uncomfortable to stay here, and I would not recommend it to anyone. Such a shame because the location is good, but the property’s condition completely ruins the experience. Definitely not worth the price.

My father booked four cabins and was advised that the resort could also accommodate a motor home. The three cabins were nice but only contained one air conditioner in each cabin. My family visited during a heat wave and none of the cabins air conditioners could keep up with the heat. The resort is on a lake, but it was not swimmable due to the enormous amount of weeds. This resort cannot accommodate a motor home at all. There is no water hook up, no dumping station and the only electrical provided was one 110 volt 15 amp outlet (what a joke). The outlet could not power any air conditioner and I was forced to use my generator throughout the entire stay. And the kicker is that the resort charged a $100 a night for the motor home. And I forget to mention that you park in a parking lot with absolutely no privacy and other guests walking by on all sides on a continual basis.

The cabins are as described so no real surprises and the location is really nice, right on the lake. Appreciated the option to use canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, peddle boats all without extra charge. Ping Pong and volleyball and horseshoes also a really nice offering. The “beach” is non-existent, but there is a pool. The bed was decently comfortable. An opportunity to improve would be to fix the door so that the screen fits the frame. Currently, it doesn’t which allows the hungry bugs to come right in. It’s rustic!

Took our Mom away for a little holiday. Cute little cabin. We really enjoyed our stay. Pool was nice and clean. Would definitely return. Could provide more than 1 wheelbarrow of firewood, need paper and kindling since it is included in your stay, otherwise AMAZING for a simple getaway!!

Perhaps the larger cabins are much nicer. I stayed ten minutes, absorbed the cost of my room, and left to check in somewhere else.

It was a nice property however there was no dvd player in my room and I could not use the table as the chairs were much lower and I was not able to start the bbq and there was no staff to contact I would have enjoyed my stay more if there were activities and staff on site
