TUI BLUE Tamala ★★★★
"Pitty that the hoel was more a construction site than a relaxing resort, due to important renovation works."
Sarge's Hotel ★★★
"I had a great stay at hotel. Room was large, clean and nicely decorated. Few problems with the shower/sink which were fixed reasonably quickly and/or new room was offered. Pool area was well looked after and pool towels were offered. Food from the restaurant was delicious. Big thank you to Alaghie who was fantastic at reception. He was always happy to help with a smile and to find a solution to any problems and with wonderful hospitality. Bring enough cash or access to cash, as card machine did not work when there."
Coco Ocean Resort & Spa ★★★★
"At Coco Ocean Resort & Spa you’ll enjoy stunning beachfront and tier-edged pools that really deliver a vacation feel, and the friendly staff add warmth to the stay. The location earns high marks, especially for beach-lovers & pool time, though some guests feel parts of the décor and rooms are overdue for refurbishment and the WiFi can be inconsistent."
Bakadaji Hotel ★★★★
"After Tui changing our holiday plans this hotel became a option. What a beautiful place Whilst we are still on holiday I would love to share our feedback so far . Room and bed are massive also super clean with kettle and toiletries. Also room service with delicious food. All staff so friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast available so much choice . Location perfect supermarket over the road.5 min walk to the palma riva strip 15 min walk to senegambia strip. Walk to the beach 5 min through back gate . Forgot security front/back of hotel and free safety deposit box in bedroom. Had a massage at the hotel was lovely . Would definitely recommend this hotel."
Kombo Beach Resort ★★★★
"We spent two wonderful weeks at Kombo beach. The staff were so kind and took good care of us in all cases. The service was excellent and the restaurant had a varity of good food. We like that the resort is locutaed close to the beach with a fresh breeze all the time. At night it was though a little bit could so bring a jacket of you want to stay outside at nighttime. We would like to go back to Gambia and Kombo beach."
Kololi Beach Resort ★★★★
"Really top-notch by Gambian standards! Of course, it is still Africa, but you are provided with every convenience; a kitchenette like that is very handy. The sushi restaurant is the only one in Gambia and truly fantastic! (Quite daring in such a hot country.) Tipping is handled via the Golden Tip Box, which has advantages but also ensures that the staff doesn't put in any extra effort and everything takes quite a long time, but hey, you're on vacation! I discovered one downside: when you go out to eat, you sit amidst shisha smoke in the evening. One tip: create a separate lounge area. The rest: chapeau!"
AFRICAN PRINCESS BEACH HOTEL ★★★★
"The air conditioning wasn't working, and they came to fix it late at night. They spent ages fixing it without even an apology; it felt like we owed the hotel something. The staff were unhelpful. The public areas were nice, but the service was terrible. The breakfast was okay."
The Kairaba Beach Hotel ★★★★
"I’m genuinely disappointed with my stay. From the moment I arrived, there has been no WiFi access in my room, which is unacceptable—especially for a hotel at this price point. I reported the issue immediately via the 24/7 WhatsApp line and followed up again the next morning. Unfortunately, there has been no resolution, with staff advising that IT is not currently on-site. In the meantime, I’ve had to use all of my personal mobile data just to keep up with work. What’s most frustrating is the lack of urgency or communication. I’ve requested a room change if the issue cannot be resolved, as I still have one more night remaining, but have yet to receive any update. For a hotel of this standard, reliable WiFi is not a luxury—it’s a basic expectation. Sadly, this experience has fallen well below that. I would not recommend staying here if connectivity is important to you."
Metzy Residence Hotel ★★★★
"Kebba the manager there is a fantastic host, he offers great service and is very friendly, this goes for all the staff you encounter and the service desk to the kitchen staff all in all the stay at the metzy was fantastic, and when I return to Gambia I will stay there again, fantastic service and great location, walking distance to the beach"

"Excellent and safe place if you travel alone. recommended guide and driver : https://local-guide-ebrima.webnode.be/"
Bamboo Garden Hotel
"Good location close to the beach short walk to senagambia there are a few restaurants close by , when we first read the reviews we were a bit worried what we were going to but it is basic but the bed is comfy it was cleaned everyday , the bar is a bit overpriced, we ordered food on the first night as it was a long day and couldn’t be bothered to go out it was awful and we didn’t eat it but was still made to pay for it , it was only when we were leaving that we found out the restaurant as no attachment to the hotel the lady who runs the restaurant was very abrupt , if you have any issues with the food don’t blame the hotel as it is not connected "
Swiss Boutique Hotel
"We stayed outside the 'tourist season', so the hotel wasn't quite up to date yet. But apart from that, it was fantastic! The staff is friendly and helpful, the chef prepares the most delicious [local] dishes for you, and the owner talks your ear off and is genuinely interested in you. The hotel is situated in a wonderfully quiet location, right on the beach, and has a beautiful garden with a swimming pool. The rooms are spacious. There is no air conditioning, but there are ceiling fans. Electricity is generated using solar panels and was more than sufficient. If you appreciate peace and quiet, this hotel is highly recommended!"
Palm Beach Hotel
"Palm Beach is a great find. It was our second year visiting. Small and friendly budget hotel perfectly located on Kotu beach. Raj and his team go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Clean rooms with fresh linen and towels daily with air conditioning and tv. Pool cleaned and attended daily. With afternoon entertainment and nightly shows. Big thank you to Raj and all the staff for another great stay"
Seaview Gardens Hotel
"Not a bad location and some rooms are OK... My daughter and niece stayed there for the last 2 weeks and had a terrible time. To start with they were put in a temporary room that stunk of damp then after complaining they were given another room. It was supposed to be a triple room (I was supposed to stay too) but the room only had a double bed after complaining again they were given a filthy and broken single bed. They refused to stay and joined me somewhere else for the night. The following day the manager was very reasonable and sorted the room situation. The new rooms were nice and clean. The pool was dirty despite being cleared each day, the toilets at the pool were filthy and the beds and tables and chairs are very dusty (some attributed to the roadworks in the area) One of the cleaners touched my daughter inappropriately outside her room. She went in her room and locked it after telling him off but he continued knocking her door. This matter was sorted by the manager only after threats to call the police. She was very angry and said she would not tolerate that behaviour and he was sacked. Other staff were very sympathetic toward her after and agreed customers should not have to tolerate this Later the lock came out with her key as she went to her room. She spent the night with chairs against the door and the door was fixed the morning after.there will need to be big changes before I would recommend this place."
Senegambia Beach Hotel
"The Senegambia Hotel is located in a beautiful park and has a charm all its own. The room was clean, simply but adequately furnished. A small refrigerator and safe are available. The bathroom lacks a bit of counter space, but the shower with decent water pressure was a definite plus. The pools are great, and the beach is a bit unusual but also very beautiful. Friendly staff. We will choose this hotel again and again, especially given its prime location (right on the Strip)."
Mansea Beach Hotel
"I booked and paid for accommodation at this hotel in advance (₦336,000 / approximately $240 USD equivalent) for a stay in July 2026, ahead of an international academic conference in The Gambia. On arrival, the property was in poor condition and materially different from what was represented when I booked. The rooms were not of an acceptable standard, and I did not feel it was a safe or suitable place to stay, particularly as a woman travelling alone in a country I was visiting for the first time. I made the decision to leave and find alternative accommodation at my own additional cost. When I requested a refund, the owner refused. He told me directly that my money had already been used to renovate the hotel. To be clear: I received no refund at all — not even a partial one — for services I paid for and did not use because the property was not as advertised. I later raised the matter through the local contact who had arranged the booking. The response relayed back to me included dismissive and insulting remarks about our decision to leave, rather than any attempt to resolve the matter. I am writing this review so other travellers, especially international visitors and conference attendees unfamiliar with the area, can make an informed decision. My honest advice: do not pay this property in advance, and inspect any room in person before committing money. Based on my experience, if anything goes wrong, you should not expect a refund or professional treatment."
Forest View Apartments
"We have just arrived back from Senegambia and stayed in one of the Forrest view apartments for 1 week. The apartment was large with 3 double bedrooms, one ensuite. Beds were clean as was the furniture and toilets but the walls and styling around the doors had months of hand prints on them and looked quite dirty. We were in room B4, our windows all faced on to the back of the Motherland Bar/Nightclub and the noise was unbelievable and went on until 5am. The noice was not just confined to the visitors at the back of the apartment as others we spoke to could hear it too. The staff apologised and said they couldn't do anything about it. Very well equipped apartments. Staff were all lovely and very welcoming and friendly. The pool area was very nice and always being cleaned. There is about 12 beds to use if lying by the pool. The area in which the apartments are situated is fantastic and sits on The Strip, a very lively area with lots of restaurants, bars and entertainment. If I was to write a negative it would have to be about the air pollution from the hundreds of old cars that run up and down the strip during the day and night, not that it is really anything to do with the apartments, but you could smell and taste the fumes."
Relax Luxury Ocean View Apartment
Bungalow Beach Hotel
"Ideal hotel and location for the older people or couples, especially the self catering apart-hotels. Very polite and friendly staff. Literally on the beach with easy access to a wide shallow beach. Easy to access bird-watching and creek tours by canoe. Spent a month there and looking forward to going back in November. Excellent value for money! Highly recommended!"
Kombo Oasis
Baobab Holiday Resort
"good location, just a pity that the road in front of the hotel was being renewed during my visit. hotel has friendly staff, every weekend there is a party in the restaurant by locals, which continues until midnight. You can also arrange a tourist ride in the hotel via Yankuba. Breakfast is standard but good for Gambian standards. the room is nice and cool and has a fridge and nice shower. I enjoyed 2 weeks. Tip : make a round prices at hotel and restaurant like 150200/250. Becouse they have not change when you charge 320/545/145. I give tip when i want ."
