The hotel rooms and staff are very good but the gym and swimming pool are very crowded, day and night. Many local Koreans are active members of the facilities. We went to the indoor swimming pool 3 days in a row and it was packed with people every time! I’ve never seen 4 people squeezed in one pool lane! And we felt like the locals were their priority not the hotel guests. There were lots of people in the lobby restaurant and the lobby too. The hotel looked like a theme park. I didn’t expect and have never been to a five star hotel like that. If the hotel rate was half of what we paid I would be ok with it, but it was very premium priced. I wouldn’t stay there again.

We had such a great stay at The Shilla Seoul. The hotel has a vibe that we really loved. Our room was super comfortable and had an amazing view. Everyone we met was friendly and professional. A special shoutout to Dustin Lee, who was especially kind and helpful. We’re already talking about coming back next time. 👍🏻

I like new hotels and so I had reservation when I booked The Shilla because of its age and location. But, the restaurant La Yeon was amazing and I just had to return as I didn’t stay in The Shilla previously. The hotel has no signs of aging. The service was truly exceptional! From the warm welcome at pickup, check-in to check-out, I was truly impressed with the friendliness and professionalism. The room was clean, new and spacious. The amenities needed were all supplied. Absolutely wonderful. The attention to detail, personalized touches, and genuine hospitality made the stay unforgettable. A perfect blend of luxury and comfort - definitely an experience worth repeating! Granted the location is a bit off but the hotel offered shuttle to a few points. I didn’t make use of that as taxis were readily available.

Amongst Koreans The Shilla Seoul is the Undisputed Quintessential Luxury Hotel. This is due to many factors that can't be found elsewhere, starting with the Beautiful Location that can't be matched you just have to go there to find out, 2nd the engraved legacy in the Korean collective consciousness, the years following 1979 birthday of the Hotel are Korean GDP expansion years, leaving a healthy mix of nostalgia and legacy amongst long-lifespan last big generation of Koreans and their offpsring. Because the stakes are high so the Staff are exceptionally trained, which leads to the 3rd factor Exceptional Cleaningness and Courteous Classy staff, this required lots of hand-picking in the increasingly difficult Korea. Despite being #1 Hotel in Korea, it's not a Top 50 Global hotel, mainly because those prestigious Ultra Luxury Top 50 Hotels are built by Lineal Royal families that are not looking for Profit, the Mind of a Limitless Royal is not the same as the mind of a Profit-Restricted Merchant, Modern Korea has no Royal families. The Samsung family are Wealthy Merchants, Merchants make merchandise, like Samsung Cloth Stylers for Luxury hotels worldwide, Samsung has to start pitching their newest Cloth Styler models product to their Flagship Hotel.

It is a beautiful hotel. The breakfast is amazing, even though it is quite expensive but I still recommend having it once. They used molton brown products. The lotions smell amazing. Bathtub is also clean and nice with sufficient hot water.

The Shilla Seoul has always been my favourite hotel to stay whenever I am in Seoul. Everything is impeccable, especially. the ultra attentive service. The rooms are exceptional, facilities excellent and the location is unbeatable. We also found our dining experience at the hotel wonderful and food was so lovely. Probably the best hotel in Seoul.

Very nice hotel, great service!! Location was up on a hill but the hotel has frequent shuttle buses that takes you to the metro stations. Our room type came with executive lounge usage, which includes breakfast, the food was excellent as well!

What a great experience from the start! Had the hotel pick me up from the airport bus stop on arrival and they have regular shuttle bus available to the nearest subway station ( or you can choose to walk up/downhill). The hotel room itself was very clean and comfortable and I really appreciate the turn down service they offer. The surroundings of the hotel is very beautiful too. I made use of the gym and sauna for the 4 days I stayed there and could say the gym has one of the best equipments for a hotel standard. The hotel can be quite busy with non-hotel guests but it didn't bother me at all. I will definitely be back to try their buffet at the Parkview another time!

Very nice hotel and service is top notch. Have shuttle to town and shuttle to subway station Donguk university. From there can go to Seoul station to take KTX to Incheon Airport.

Stayed 5 nights, room no. 1520. The pros are location, near the subway station and the hotel has a shuttle bus to get you there. The view from the room is good, facing the Nan Shan. The out room jacuzzi is fantastic The service from the front door and facilities are good especially the front door staff called "Dustin Lee", he behaved professionally and friendly which made me feel I really was a guest in your hotel. The Cons: The room was a bit shabby and outdated, also the closet couldn't close properly. The hotel lobby will always be crowded as different kinds of people get there, which annoys me. Also, I had a worse experience at my check-out, the receptionist asked me if it was okay with my stay, I said the lobby was crowded and chaotic which made me feel uncomfortable, but she said she didn't know what is "chaotic", I don't know what that means and I spelt to her, she behaved a bit cool and unfriendly, and the concierge staff next to her told her what is "chaotic", I think she is unprofessional and a bit rude. Also, last Saturday morning(22nd Feb), a couple took some wedding photos in the hotel lobby, and all the guests couldn't cross the lobby to the front door, I understand that it was the most memorable day for them, but the lobby is for all hotel guests, which may be made all hotel guests feel uncomfortable and inconvenient, I think the management should have done some arrangement for that to minimize the situation like that. Overall my stay was so-so, hope next time stay will be better as we go to Seoul quite often.

Lounge happy hours can equal to a full dinner especially the happy hour start from 6 to 10pm. Plenty of time to enjoy. Cons is food repeated every day. No varieties

We had a wonderful time here! All the staffs were so nice and helpful. The whole experience was just amazing. The room was beautiful and they had shuttle buses taking you to the front entrance and Myeongdong. It was our first time staying at Shilla and I would definitely stayed here again.
