The stay this time round fell short compared to previous stays as basic necessities like toothbrush, toothpaste and razor now comes with a fee to “promote recycling”. In my opinion, for guests like myself who came without preparing, it kind of makes no sense since buying them from the hotel or the convenience store wouldn’t make any difference anyway - it would eventually be thrown away upon leaving the hotel

This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way, offering an exceptionally clean and spacious environment that made for a truly unforgettable stay. The rooms are generously sized and impeccably designed, providing ample space to relax and unwind. The plush bed was a highlight, offering the perfect blend of comfort and support for a restful night's sleep. The hotel's location is simply perfect, situated just outside the vibrant Myeong-dong night market. This bustling marketplace offers a wide variety of food stalls, convenience stores, and shopping options, ensuring that everything you need is right at your doorstep. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a business trip, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and convenient stay in the heart of the city.

The hotel is centrally located, which allowed for easy movement around the city. The staff have been extremely helpful and the service was of the highest quality, always smiling and eager to help. The rooms were consistently cleaned up daily and the hotel staff even assisted in setting us up with SIM cards to make navigation easy. The Plaza should be the number 1 option to stay in your travels to Seoul and quite possibly the best hotel we ever stayed in the world!!!

Excellent service. I had my foot ripped off and need an adhesive tape. I made the request at Room Chat and they sent me within 5 minutes. On another occasion, we need to go Sanchon for dinner appointment but couldn’t be able to get any urber or taxi on apps, so we tried to ask hotel front desk. Their staff arranged taxi for us within 10 minutes. Highly commendable for their efficiency and “can-do” attitude! The only setback is breakfast only serves until 10:30am. Would be great if all day breakfast is available as leisure travellers do not have tight schedule and tend to wake up late.

Perfect location and easy arrive from ICN airport. Hotel located at main street of Myeongdong and opposite is lotte department store. Breakfast buffet is included in my order and served from 7-10. Choice is enough and environment is clean and food is nice. This hotel is my favourite in Seoul

Hotel was beautiful and everything was intricately designed and pictures don’t do it justice. They gave us complimentary chocolate for our anniversary! Bed and pillows were soft. Toilet was huge and I enjoyed the bathtub. Gym was clean and had a nice design and equipment efficient and sufficient. 10 min walk to Myeongdong (we also took the subway one stop) and 15-20 min walk to namsan cable car via glass elevator. The traditional market was also right behind the hotel and mall next door. Very good shopping location. Hotel was near the subway station, and the nearest exit was connected to the shinsagae mall food basement (I think it was exit 7). The subway elevator to this exit was not obvious so may not be easy for guests with big luggage (there was one flight of steps coming up from the platform). From the station exit instead of walking up the slope to the hotel you can take an escalator inside the police station across the road/ pedstrian crossing (but closes at 10pm). Take lift up to the check in reception.

Superb. Lobby on 3rd floor. Shower had a bench for easier bathing for elderly. Exit Hongdae exit 9 (steps) or exit 8 (lift access). Pickup drop off point on main road was stressful as most Uber drops u there..better pickup drop-off point via small road leading to other side of hotel next to carpark exit/entrance is much better. Gym has usual basic stepper, weights, treadmill cross fit. Hotel access pass can only lead to the floor your room is located which is good. Walk downstairs and Harry porter cafe, and a whole lot of eateries. Buffet breakfast was adequate.

The water heater was out of order so no hot water for shower. No notification from the hotel and the attitude of the front desk was not helpful and somehow rude. The hygiene is fine but a few things are broken: - the hair dryer’s joint is loosen so it’s front part keeps dropping - the show holder is loosen so it is always at a lower location Bed is nice.

We had a fantastic stay at Shilla Stay Mapo (Hongdae)! The location was perfect, with easy access to public transportation and many popular attractions in Seoul. Our Family Twin Room was spotless and had plenty of space for our family to spread out comfortably. The hotel’s facilities were excellent—everyone in our group loved the on-site amenities, especially the delicious breakfast spread each morning. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, offering quick responses to any requests we had. Overall, our family had a wonderful experience here and we highly recommend Shilla Stay Mapo for anyone visiting Seoul!
