I love the sand bar and the river view suites. There is so much wildlife on the river with all the birds and dolphins and it is beautiful to gaze out upon. The sand bar is unique and we had great service. We will be back!

My sister from North Florida and I from South Florida met here to go through masses of family pictures and papers. Our task was made so pleasant by the location and amenities of this resort. We stayed in Rum Cay right on the river with a great balcony for cocktail breaks and sunset viewing. We saw dolphins playing and fish jumping and birds catching them. So fun. The restaurant next door where we ate all our meals is consistently excellent and provides great service. Here’s a shoutout to KB, Teresa, and Roman, but everyone working at the resort is relaxed and friendly. Our room and bath were spotless, our beds were very comfortable, and we had plenty of space to do our work. Both of us are looking forward to returning to Captain Hiram’s in the near future with our husbands for more eating, drinking, and laughing in this gorgeous natural setting.

Met family there as it was half way between us and was one of our favorite go to places when in the area. This time was not as good as expected. Food was not up to their usual standards. When we politely informed the wait staff their response was a shrug and a snarky comment. Not sure what was going on that day but again we usually really enjoy this place and the food. We will go there again as everyone can have a bad day. So yes I will recommend it with some reservation.

We were surprised by this great little resort along the Indian River Lagoon. Our king suite room with a balcony overlooking the water was clean, spacious with nice cold a/c. No musty smell like so many small, local waterfront resorts.all of the staff we encountered were extremely friendly. Plus there are so many fun things to do while you are there. We enjoyed hanging out at the Sandbar listening to live music each afternoon and evening. Service from both the bar staff and servers was excellent. While the kitchen was being remodeled the menu was limited, however the items we got were delicious! They also had a food truck in the parking lot that we could bring food in from and it was great. The drinks were great as well and we were surprised at how reasonably priced they were for this style of bar/resort. We also enjoyed a river cruise on the River King from the marina. Capt Jim and First Mate Mitch took us through part of the Indian River Lagoon to see a pod of dolphins before we headed us the St. Sebastian River. We learned about not only the ecology of the lagoon but some of the history of the area as well. Even as locals, we learned some new things! Overall this was a great staycation for us and we will be back again!

Loved this hotel. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Food was good, even with a limited menu as the kitchen was being remodeled. Nice sitting at the bar and watching the river. Room and bathroom very clean. The beds were very comfortable and didn't have all the blankets, duvet all really tight. Will definitely recommend and we plan to go back soon.
