Kathryn Riverfront Inn, Ascend Hotel Collection

I really liked the hotel, very clean, the view of the river is beautiful and it is very quiet! The bed and pillows were very comfortable.

The stay was amazing. The view, the pool, hot tub, sauna. It was all perfect. Beds were very, very firm and not comfortable for us, but the stay was wonderful. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Staff was also very friendly. Cookies served daily

This place was so welcoming! Everything from the room to the amenities were great! I didn’t get to use the hot tub because it was really busy but I’m sure it would’ve been great too. Shout out to Amadaeus for helping me find my phone after we had already checked out!

Weekend away, bummer thing, the hot tub still broken, pool was cold. Staff was great, breakfast was good. Property is well maintained and clean.

What a wonderful experience! The location was great! The staff were pleasant and helpful! The cookies and chowder were a hit! Room was very comfortable! I will be back again!

Spent 3 nights the first week of August. We didn't realize it was the same week of the international volleyball tournament, so prices were higher than normal. However, the hotel never felt overcrowded or noisy. The nights were very quiet, and we enjoyed a 3rd floor king room (#318). The bed was comfy and layout perfect for a couple. Additional Pros: • Front desk staff was hospitable and always helpful with questions, in particular the gentleman with the long beard. • Free salmon chowder at the front desk each evening, smelled wonderful but didn't get a chance to have any as we happened to be heading out to dinner at the time. We also appreciated the flavored waters in the lobby that were rotated each day. • Amazing hot breakfast. No matter what time during the breakfast hours, food was constantly replenished, and it was an excellent bargain as part of the nightly rate. Each day alternated between sausage links/patties and bacon, with eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy and other standard fare available. • While small, the balcony was a tranquil place to sit and read while facing the river. • The fitness room had just enough to get a decent workout in, and temperature kept cool. • We never had an issue finding parking out front. It is limited to guests only with a permit for the duration of your stay. • Overall feel of the interior was cozy and had a lodge-like feel to it. They'd done renovations some years back after being a former Quality Inn, and the design is pleasing. Cons: • As other reviewers have commented, the blinds in the door do a very limited job of blocking light, and the room was quite bright after dark. Likely something that won't be rectified anytime soon. Recommend an eye mask. • The pool is an odd L shape that doesn't really lend itself to swimming laps. Overall pool room is still decent though, and we enjoyed using the jacuzzi. • Was not an issue for us on the 3rd floor, especially since our room was halfway down the hall, but at least one reviewer commented that the piped-in music is particularly loud on the 2nd floor, mostly close to the stairwell and elevator. Would recommend requesting a room farther away from the elevator and stairs if on the 2nd floor. • Not a lot of gluten-free options at breakfast, but this was minor and workable. Coffee is also pretty meh - an easy walk to local shops if you want an alternative. Tip: if you stay during a warm season and there is an easy chair in front of your AC, you'll want to move it to one side before going to bed so the cool air flow isn't blocked. Overall, we had a great time at Kathryn Riverfront Inn and made lasting memories during our anniversary celebration. With friendly, welcoming staff, a comfortable, quiet room, fantastic breakfast and convenient access to all the offerings of Seaside, we'd give strong consideration to booking here in the future.
