"A group of us booked the entire place for a weekend. The rooms are quirky, clean, and compact. Ours had two single beds and a set of bunkbeds for kids. There's a large common kitchen/dining room and comfy chairs and tables outside each room. We walked 10 minutes into town for meals, then enjoyed gathering round the firepit for the evening. Overall, lots of fun and the best with nice summer weather."

The Olde Ship Inn

"An absolutely fantastic hotel! It's about a five-minute walk from the bus stop and only five minutes from the pier where boats depart, which was incredibly convenient for our booked bird-watching tour. You can wake up early and walk to the pier to catch the sunrise, then grab some fish and chips. The service was superb; the staff were very welcoming and always ready to help with any requests. The hotel also operates as a pub/restaurant, and the food quality is excellent, with very attentive service. Even Charles, when he was still a prince, visited here. Our accommodation was a small bungalow separate from the main hotel. It's unbelievable to get an entire house with a living room and kitchen at this price in the UK – it truly felt like living in the town. Breakfast is à la carte, a very delicious and traditional English breakfast."

"Great little place to stay, room has beds , bedside tables. Stanssing lamps, table and 2 comfy chairs, air conditioning, tea making facilities ( filled up each day) bin (emptied each day) if you have a takeaway meal you’ll need to take plates and cutlery, bathroom with shower, towels. Soaps, shampoo etc supplied. Cafe years from snug. Breakfast, etc available. Chinese takeout round corner. Best chippy is on high street wouldn’t recommend Hook, gone down over the years. Will return."

"If you plan to stay at the Beach House Hotel, be sure to arrive by taxi or on foot because you will not be able to park your car there. The nearest available space is a 10 minute walk out of town where the double yellow lines stop, by the beach."

Farne Island Bed and Breakfast

"This is a special bnb, super comfortable and interestingly quirky, the sea and fish theme maintained beautifully throughout. The spec for furnishings is very high and the bathroom with sunken bath was a particular delight. Breakfast was of fresh local produce, tasty and filling. Bed perfect for a good night's sleep, important for me as I had just completed a lengthy charity bike ride! Michael was friendly, chatty and knowledgeable, an excellent host. It's a great place to stay, warmly recommended."

"Lovely B&B on the edge of town with stables and stunning views. Lovely comfortable room with good bed and great shower. Breakfast was lovely with generous portions and our hosts were warm, welcoming and friendly. Would definitely return!"

"Room wasn't what we expected,wasn't cleaned properly, we told the owner,who then offered to come and sort it out,I will give him his due he was always on the end of the phone if you needed him.he did give us a rebate,the toilet was only 2ft from my side of the bed and you could hear the people in the next room who were very noisy, but that's not his fault .we found it claustro phobic.the only reason I give 2 is because of the owner or it would be a 1."
