Days Inn by Wyndham Scranton PA

We stayed at the Days Inn in Scranton, Pennsylvania for one night while attending a concert at Montage Mountain. While we did not expect a luxury stay, our experience still fell short of reasonable expectations. On arrival, the exterior of the building appeared very run down, though the lobby itself was clean and check-in was quick. The elevator ran smoothly but had a strong odor, and the hallway ceiling showed visible damage. The odor in the halls was overwhelming. Our room key initially did not work, and even the manager struggled with it before explaining the lock smith “wasn’t the best”. The room was overly warm upon entry (over 80 degrees on an with the AC off), had a dated layout, and was furnished cheaply. There were visible drink rings on the coffee table, and one of its legs was broken, making it unusable. The ceiling and one wall showed water damage and bubbling sheetrock ran down the wall. While the bathroom fixtures were clean and the floors were reasonably maintained, one towel was stained, and the towel rack was coming loose from the wall. The bed had clean sheets, but the pillows were unusually small. Staff was not present at the front desk when we checked out the next morning, even after ringing the bell. For the condition of the property, we were surprised given that this was not the cheapest room available in the area. Overall, while the hotel did provide the basics for a one-night stay, the lack of maintenance, cleanliness concerns, and poor condition of the facilities would prevent us from returning or recommending it.

Stay away from this hotel! I know you might think because it's cheap. The mold, pot smell through the building, the couple that sat in the lobby and kept running up to cars exchanging items all night!! The bathroom has mold in it, you have plug the TV into the lamp, blow dryer came apart with wires hanging, bed spread filthy we went out and bought some, and yes no help at the service desk there answer is basically you paid so get out.

The srrvice wad good sara was wonderful she helped in every way evan after hours of work she helped a guy with a smile she deserves a raise for goin beyond her limits she will do whatever it takes to make you happy and that she does i kno she helped me very very well

I have never, ever had ROACHES in any hotel I have slept in. We found 4. There were police outside when we arrived My daughter said it smelled strongly disinfected in the lobby We need to ask numerous times for a fridge, me and crib. The set up of the room was odd. The tub was painted and peeling. The breakfast was packaged and horrible. Along w/ the coffee. We did not stay a second night and now we believe there were bedbugs.

The hotel rate was very good but it is definitely a dated place …bed comfortable… long wait for food at the Moon restaurant…nice bathroom mirror and counter… stairwells needed a complete scrapping and painting.. the exterior door to the outside had no handle or lock… no secure entrance from the parking lot..we were carrying so it wasn’t an issue..all-in-all an OK place to spend a quick night!!

I'm extremely disappointed with my recent stay at this hotel. The condition and management were completely unacceptable. First, the soundproofing is nonexistent. We could hear everything happening in the rooms next to us throughout our entire stay, making it impossible to relax or sleep comfortably. The noise issues only got worse when maintenance staff began cleaning at 5:00 AM and were literally screaming in the hallways. This woke up our puppy, who was understandably distressed by the commotion. There is no reason for staff to be that loud at such an early hour. The cleanliness was also a major problem. Guests from the Moon Lounge repeatedly left beer bottles and cans scattered in the hallways, which remained there for hours. The housekeeping staff did nothing to address this, creating an unprofessional and frankly disgusting environment. For the price we paid, this experience was completely unacceptable. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone and will not be returning. Management needs to address the noise policies, train staff on appropriate volume levels, and enforce basic cleanliness standards throughout the property. Save your money and book elsewhere.
