Excellent hotel. Everything is very professional but cosy at the same time. Very peaceful and beautiful location. The food there is superb. The breakfast options were plentiful. The dinner options are very interesting. The chef was able to tailor the meals to accommodate food allergies (gluten intolerance in our case). Also a very convenient location to connect with the rest of the Appenzell area.

I stayed here for 2 nights in September 2023 in a room for 1 person. I think it had the smallest bathroom compared to any other hotel I have stayed in, but it is manageable to move around. The location of the hotel is great. There is a beautiful view over the Appenzeller mountains and I was lukcy to get a room with a view and a balcony. The walls are thin, so bring earplugs in case you get noisy neighbours. There is plenty to choose from at the breakfast buffet. There is free parking at the hotel. There is a 20 minute walk to the cable car station that will take you to Ebenalp.

We had a very nice stay at Frohe Aussicht! It's a family owned hotel where you feel very welcome. It has a very central location and is surrounded by incredible mountains. The breakfast is very tasty, and the calm will help you spend relaxing vacations. Highly recommend.

Io e mia moglie siamo appena stati in questo hotel a Schwende, dove abbiamo svolto qualche attività sportive . La posizione dell’hotel è favolosa, inoltre è in una zona tranquillissima. La camera era grande, confortevole e dotata di tutti i servizi top Il ristorante ottimo, abbiamo provato L hamburger con manzo sfilacciato e formaggio Appenzeller, meraviglioso Personale gentilissimo! Ritorneremo sicuramente

Mit meinen Eltern wurde ich bereits vor über 55 Jahren von diesem "Kleinod" beherbergt. Damals war es noch die dritte Generation, und heute ist es bereits die fünfte. Fazit: Immer noch sehr zu empfehlen, ob es nun die Lage des Hauses, das Essen, oder die Freundlichkeit betrifft!

Kurzes Wanderwochenende im Appenzell. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen im Alpstein (z.Bsp. Hoher Kasten oder Ebenalp) Sehr schöne Boutique Zimmer, gutes Frühstücksbuffet. Abendessen war ebenfalls sehr lecker und können wir nur weiterempfehlen.

Üblicherweise zahle ich für ein Doppelzimmer Einzelbenutzung um die 130CHF. Trotz frühzeitiger Ankündigung, dass ich alleine anreise, musste ich 172 CHF für mich alleine bezahlen. Antworten auf unsere Emails erfolgten nicht. Keine harmonische Stimmung.

Wunderbares Hotel in Schwende. Perfekt gelegen für Wanderungen/Biketouren/Ausflüge. Gastgeber und Hotelpersonal sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und unkompliziert. Saubere, schön eingerichtete Zimmer. Sämtliche Pflegeprodukte im Hotel sind aus regionaler Produktion. Auch beim Essen wird mit regionalen Produkten gekocht. Das Restaurant ist sehr empfehlenswert!
