You have to start with the climb: a mountain road of about 20 kms that must be done in a 4x4. And you can't avoid it, there is a police station that checks before entering and warns you about the absolute necessity of having four-wheel drive... upon arrival we wondered why. It's a beautiful paved road with steep slopes, but hey, you just have to not go fast and have good brakes. After 30 minutes, beautiful landscapes, the hotel awaits you with a magnificent view of the Omani canyons. We were lucky to be the only couple on this date. The concierge was super friendly and went out of his way to make our stay pleasant. The hotel is a little old (interior and exterior furniture, paintings, towels...) but remains decent. It is well located for hiking, visiting abandoned villages and right next to the Anantara, of another class. I recommend the little Iranian restaurant located between the two hotels: it's great.

Wonderful breakfasts and lovely friendly and exceptionally helpful staff. Very Large room with all facilities and comfortable bed. Fabulous views from the hotel. A great place to explore the little villages and terraces. You feel you are on the top of the world.

The lobby/restaurant area was unheated (the hotel is at an altitude of 2000 meters), and the automatic entrance door was broken and left open, which made it even colder. The rooms were also cold and dirty (visible dust). Some had leaks in the bathroom and/or mold. The awnings over the entrance area were all torn. Window seals were hanging off (see photos). The pool was dirty, and the spa area was closed. There were lots of broken chairs outside, and the entire complex appeared very neglected. The last straw was the restaurant in the evening. As cold as it was upon arrival (we sat at the table in jackets), the food turned out to be just as cold as the room. We were supposed to spend two nights here as part of a tour, but we refused. Our tour guide then arranged a hotel for us that actually lived up to the name. I would give it 0 stars/points if I could.

The resort does not match the pictures and photos in any way. The resort is very dated and unfortunately looks very neglected. Everywhere you look, it's obvious that minor and major repairs are necessary. Cleanliness is also seriously lacking. Dinner was a buffet, and the food was unfortunately cold.

Booked the Royal Family Suite for a vet together with my friends.Good resort with helpful staff. Positive: Location,Cleanliness,food taste Negative: Spa should be there and 24 hours coffee Shop However,our overall rating goes well. We would like to visit again for a bonfire night
