The Starlite Resort is a wonderful place to stay for trips into Saugatuck and Douglas. The rooms and grounds are super clean, the grounds spacious and well-maintained. The pool has plenty of chairs and towels. Despite the motel being full when we were there it was very quiet and we heard no highway noise. The breakfast room was bright and pleasant, offering some cold cereals, bread, sweet rolls and beverages. A 2–3-minute walk down the highway is Pennyroyal that has outstanding breakfast, lunch and dinner. A word about a great employee, Rachel in housekeeping. We left a tote bag behind and after notifying us of that fact and discovering we were halfway across the state she put it in a box and shipped it to us, all in good cheer, going above and beyond.

We had a great 2 night stay at the Starlite with friends! Walt was there to greet us upon check-in, he was quick to joke about me 'sampling' the candy on the desk. He was a good sport when we gave it right back to him. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the bed was very comfortable. We were missing a shower curtain, which was taken care of immediately (even though we said it wasn't urgent). I didn't have a problem with that at all, it told me they are taken down and washed! All towels were replaced each day, even if they were hanging. That was great. We spent 2 afternoons poolside, which was not crowded and very enjoyable. We enjoyed the well-maintained property and friendly service. I would definitely stay here again and hopefully will!

This was our 2nd visit in 4 years. I was hesitant staying again. Had the same experience. The pool and the very strict rules. We respect and follow. However, they are very invasive with enforcement. I was in the pool with my kids and I watched the old man scan our pool bag. I had a small beach ball but saw the sign so left the ball in my bag. He didn’t say hello but rather “didn’t you read the sign!” I said I did read the sign that’s why the ball in in the bag and not the pool. I assured him we also do not have food or pet. Just rude. They are easy to take your money, but will make you feel like an unwanted guest. And the beds are super hard and the room stinks.

The Starlite Resort is a veteran owned motel and has been renovated with a MCM vibe from the 1960’s. Very cool motel with nice amenities for guest. We chose the Starlite a pet friendly venue. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The facility founds are awesome for pets and guest. The pool area is safe and secure. Definitely worthy of a place we will return to.

Charming, clearly well-loved. Every inch of the place, indoors and out, was clean and tidy. The yard is expansive and full of many gathering areas that feature combinations of fire pits, picnic tables, pergolas, barbeques, etc.

This is a family owned hotel and I can't say enough good things about them and the property. They are so kind and welcoming. The rooms are clean and large. The property is quiet and beautiful..There are chairs right outside the room to sit and enjoy the trees and greenery and tranquility. I've stayed here every visit I have made to Saugatuck and I hope to make it back again!!
