Melea - The Health Concept

I had a very relaxing stay in Melea - The Health Concept! There are lots of leisure activities which are free, I tried yoga and nordic walking and spine training. I can recommend this hotel for recharging, it has a great, peaceful location, great garden, gym, saunas, everything you need. The only thing I was a bit disappointed about was that there were not as many pools as I'm used to, but the outdoor sauna totally made up for it! And meals are almost fine dining level, so I am very satisfied with this hotel!

We were looking for a little piece and relaxation, and this place is perfect for that! Nice location, right next to a lake, bright comfortable rooms and great free activities. Aroma therapy massage is amazing, try it!

The hotel is beautiful and, as it is for adults only, it provides an extremely quiet and peaceful environment for relaxation. The spa and wellness area is not large, but it is clean, sophisticated and meets all needs. The meals offer a true fine dining experience, which I wholeheartedly recommend to everyone.

The design is remarkable. The Gate can be the signature of the hotel. A ring what relfects on various places of the hotel like above the fire place and the shapes of the moirrors. The materials I think does not represent the highest quality, but selected carefully. The principle is good a healthy way to escape from the everydays, no stress and any factors linked to it. All the place exuded a zen atmosphere. It has just opened for a few months ago, so it must have a lot to improve, but the crew is very helpful and they welcome the feedbacks, so I hope they will become better and better. I am not completely satisfied with the size of the wellness area. The sauna cabins are a bit small specially if they have sauna programs (despite of this, a young man who just a few months ago got his paper to hold sauna programs gave us our best experience, but we visited many other sauna programs before), the pool selection is also a bit poor. Many juice mixes contained apple which is not a valueable fruit, often used just to occupy volume from the more expensice ingredients in the hope of greater profit so I would just skip it. The menu selection is not too wide and at the end of the there being became a bit boring, because the menu was the same for lunch and for dinner as well. And there were some differences and forgetted things, but they just opened at that time and they really were on to searching for how to make our vacation better, which it the point for me.

REVIEW: I rarely write reviews, but this time I feel obligated to warn others. My stay at Melei The Health Concept was incredibly disappointing and far below what you’d expect from a hotel that claims to be 5-star. Let’s start with the food – very limited menu, the same options every day, and even those were frequently unavailable. What little we did receive was often missing key components. "Fresh juice" was bottled, and the advertised “local organic products” were clearly store-bought. One evening, there wasn’t even enough food or space for all the guests to dine. Completely unacceptable. Service was chaotic at best. Communication was a struggle, as most of the staff spoke little or no English. Politeness and professionalism were lacking. In one instance, staff entered the room without knocking or announcing themselves – a serious issue when it comes to guest privacy. Rules (like smoking policies) were applied inconsistently, depending on who you were. Facilities were a huge letdown. No bar, no lounge, no coffee machine in the room. Just a basic kettle. The terrace was mysteriously closed during our stay, and we were never given a proper explanation. There was literally nowhere to sit and enjoy a drink or snack – not because it was crowded, but because no one was there to serve. The property itself is aesthetically nice, but that’s where the positives end. Beneath the surface, it’s clear that this hotel is poorly managed and absolutely not ready to operate at a 5-star level. We originally planned to stay longer, but like others, ended up leaving early. Very unfortunate. I would not return, and I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone expecting even basic quality or service.

My stay at Melei The Health Concept was by far the WORST experience I've ever had at a so-called 5-star hotel. If you're looking for relaxation, good food, basic service, or even the bare minimum expected from a luxury hotel – stay as far away from this place as possible. The food was a disaster. The menu was extremely limited, exactly the same for lunch and dinner, and even then, many items were unavailable. Portions arrived incomplete, missing basic sides. The “freshly squeezed” juice was actually bottled, and the “local farm” smoked products were just cheap supermarket items. Some guests didn’t even get dinner because there weren’t enough seats in the restaurant – or enough food. Yes, in a supposed 5-star hotel. The service was shocking. Most staff don’t speak English, making communication frustrating. They were unhelpful, disorganized, and completely unprofessional. Worst of all – a staff member entered my room without notice or permission. That is a serious violation of privacy. Smoking rules were applied randomly – some people were allowed to smoke, others weren’t, without any consistency. Facilities? Basically non-existent. No bar. No lounge. No area to enjoy a drink because there’s simply no one to serve you – ever. The terrace was closed for no apparent reason. There wasn’t even a coffee machine in the room – only a cheap kettle. Absolutely unacceptable for a hotel that markets itself as a luxury wellness destination. I had booked for four nights but left after two. I couldn’t take it anymore. I spent the rest of my vacation elsewhere – because this place RUINED the beginning of it. Yes, the hotel looks nice in photos – but the reality is: NOTHING works.
