"The room was spacious and the facilities were new, but the room layout was strange, and I didn't like the decorating style. The black decor and dim lighting made it very oppressive and uncomfortable. The credit card guarantee was still pending; I had to call several times to follow up before they finally processed it. This was the only place I stayed during this trip."

"We stayed at the hotel for 1 night due to unfortunate circumstances with a car breakdown on the A28. After a very stressful day, my family and I arrived at the hotel and were welcomed. The room was nice and the shower excellent. We ate at the restaurant that evening and were somewhat surprised by the quality of the French cuisine that was served. It was simply marvellous. The following day we had to check out but due to the ineptitude of the AA, we were struggling to get plans put in place to fix the car and get back to the UK. The hotel kindly offered to let us use the room past the 11am checkout. The staff here are friendly and so helpful - I cannot recommend this hotel enough on this basis. It certainly made a stressful situation a lot easier and we extend our thanks to all the staff at the Hotel de France. I wouldn't hesitate to use this hotel again in the future if I was in the area."

"THIS PLACE IS IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INDUSTRIAL ESTATE WE ARRIVED ON SUNDAY THERE ARE NO STAFF AND THE SECRUIRITY GATE WAS SHUT THERE WAS NO WAY IN NO ONE HAD E MAILED US THE CODE. WE WERE LUCKY AFTER TRYING TO TELEPHONE THE NUMBER ON THE GATE [ALL ENGAGED] ANOTHER GUEST WHO HAVE ARRIVED THE PREVIOUS DAY TOLD US TO GO INTO THE VILLAGE WERE A MANAGER OF ANOTHER HOTEL HAD THE CODE TO GET IN DONT STAY HERE ROOMS NOT VERY CLEAN AND A YOUNG GIRL ARRIVED IN THE MORNING FOR BREAKFASTS FLIES EVERYWHERE KITCHEN IN DISARRAY AND BREAKFAST DREADFULL. IF YOU LIKE THE IDEA OF WAITING IN DESOLUTE AREAS TO BE LET IN YOUR HOTEL WITH MOTOR BIKE RACERS PLAYING SILLY GAMES AROUND YOU WITH NO WHERE ELSE TO GO EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE BOOKED IN FOR SUNDAY PLEASE STAY HERE. THE MANAGERS NAME IS RICHARD STEPHANE HIS TEENAGED DAUGHTER SERVES THE BREAKFASTS."

"Checked in with friendly receptionist just before 9. No lift in this building but only two floors up. Ok at this time of the year but not sure of the summer! Slept very well. Other family members couldn’t seem to get their room cool and were very warm during the night. Shower is good but bathroom is small. We didn’t take breakfast. As I say it is a one night stopover kind of place."
