La Villa des Consuls - Gîte de Tourisme de Charme

We drove from Salers to Sarlat-la-Canéda via Argentat-sur-Dodogne, Souillac, Montignac and Les-Eyziers. The drive was extremely picturesque and a number of chateaux were visible from the road. We arrived in Sarlat to find the streets filled with overhanging bunting and all the shops had their goods displayed on the pavements. There was lots of very colourful clothing offered for sale. For those who like cannard, this town being situated in the Perigord region is Foie gras central! We stayed for two nights at this great establishment located in the centre of the medieval city, in the Richelieu suite, which was spacious and fantastically appointed and which has its own outside terrace with chairs, a table and a lounge. We heard the most incredible pianist playing in the street just below our window. What a joy! The suite provided everything you could ever need, including a comfortable bed, a dishwasher and a fridge. You cannot drive directly to the hotel and you will need to get directions prior to arriving regarding where to park your car. We reserved a spot in their parking garage and there are only four spots available. Clois and Valentine at Reception were very helpful in recommending L'Adresse restaurant for dinner, which was exceptional, as well as where to find La Poste. Highly recommended!

Everything was great. However, it wasn’t that easy to access. Possibly consider closer parking lot with pickup upon request.

Outdated furniture, mold in bathroom Top location in the hear of Sarlat and amazing terrace. Apartment is really old, and furniture is very outdated (and in parts broken). There was mold in the bathroom. The kitchen was poorly equiped, did not even have basic condiments (salt, pepper).

Super nice staff, excellent English. Huge apartment, great AC on hot days. Breakfast was well worth it.
