The Residences on Siesta Key Beach by Hyatt Vacation Club

I'll start with saying we were stunned at the level of luxury in our 3 bd unit. We've stayed at a lot of high end places but the Hyatt Siesta Key exceeded them all, we loved this place, at first.......we soon realized the kitchen counters were loaded with ants. We immediately brought it to the front desk attention who said they'd send someone. Long story short, we were there 5 days and had loads of ants in the kitchen all 5 of them. We couldn't open any food packages that wouldn't go in the fridge. We had food ruined that was placed in the cabinets. We didn't even want to put any food or dishes out. Despite the desk telling us they sent someone to spray we never saw ANY evidence they did, no odor no ants being attracted to the supposed bait in the corners, nothing, just as many ants on the last day as the first if not more. We get that it IS Florida but there's NO EXCUSE for a property of this caliber to not regularly schedule pest control to prevent this problem. The other area's of service at the resort were excellent, especially the beach attendant Patrick and the valet. BUT half of the value of a rental condo is the kitchen and it was pretty much useless. VERY disappointing.

Awesome place with high end amenities, beachfront location and close to numerous restaurants and shops. Free breakfast, valet parking and beach chairs/ umbrellas. Nicest and largest rooms we’ve ever stayed in. The best sunsets views anywhere.

The overall good reviews here were pretty spot on. Overall, this is a place to go to relax and have luxurious accommodations. It is not a resort with a lot of service or activities. The accommodations are wonderful. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable with every appliance and amenity you could need. (As others said, get groceries as the kitchen is high end and has everything you need. You can do laundry. There is a cooler to take food out to the beach.) The shower in our bathroom had water coming out of 6 different places! The beds were very comfy. It was hard to go home! The hotel is on a dead end street and it was pretty quiet. But a block away there was a 7-Eleven, a pizza place, a breakfast/lunch spot, ice cream, a couple bars, some restaurants. It was great to have so much in walking distance when we didn't feel like getting in the car or hopping on the free trolley. The beach was very nice with chairs and umbrellas and towels provided. It took us a couple days to realize that people get out there early and claim the front row near the water and then go have breakfast but as the beach wasn't very wide, it wasn't a huge deal when we got "back row." Pat, who got out chairs every day was super friendly and accommodating and when I was trying to finish a chapter in my book and it was past the 5:00 pick up time, he would get the other chairs and umbrellas around first and let me read longer. As others said the pool is small but we never even needed it. The beach and water are so nice (the softest sand that stays cool and warm, calm water we could use floats in). The valet and front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Siesta Key Village with many shops and restaurants is only a couple miles away. Other excursions we did were all within 20-25 minutes and easy drives (Jungle Gardens, Big Cat Habitat, and Mote Aquarium). Right over the bridge there is a Publix and many other stores and chain restaurants and the like. My daughter actually lost her glasses in the ocean and we were able to get her a new pair (made same day) at a Lens Crafters 10 minutes away! So there is really anything you could need on site or very close by. Our only complaint the whole time is that we were provided a list of activities at check in that included things like a "poolside treat" and "make your own sno cones." These things did not materialize and when my kids waited around for them, I asked at valet and was informed by one of the beach staff that she was busy doing other things and would get around to it. My kids waited 40 minutes one day for stupid sno cones that were not worth it. Again, not a big deal and I understand everyone is understaffed but just set the expectation. (Also, both times I asked about one of these things the front desk and valet guys were really nice and apologetic and didn't seem to know why it would be delayed. I also brought it up in the survey the hotel sent and someone from recreation called me. So good to know they do take guest sati

This is a very good hotel. The rooms are huge plenty of space for a family. The beach was lovely. The pool was small, but appropriate. We really enjoyed the proximity to a few restaurants. the continental breakfast came in very handy. We really enjoyed hanging out on our terrace. We had a golf view room two bedroom. We will definitely come back to siesta key.

Make sure you are able to walk a good distance because the elevators usually don't work. Leave nothing in the room upon check out. You will NEVER see it again. The guest services will not turn in found itens, such as phone cords, chargers or electronic devices.

Wonderful condo rental …this was our second visit. Continental breakfast and use of beach chairs and umbrellas included … plus a lovely pool and outdoor bar/food service. The Hyatt is walking distance to our favorite restaurant Clayton’s Siesta Key Grille. These condos are beautifully decorated …with high end appliances and comfy beds!

We enjoyed our stay overall. We were there for about 6 days. The rooms/suites are beautiful with a great kitchen and beautiful bathrooms. Our bed was very comfortable. Housekeeping came daily. Our balcony was right next to the construction for the building next door. It was nice on the weekend when they weren't working but loud during the week all day, so it wasn't easy to relax on our balcony at those times. The pool was also closed two of our days and the fire pit was not working the first few days we were there. They did not have smart TV's.They did have blue ray players. Their movie rental list was mostly children's movies. Breakfast selections are minimal. There is a cute terrace area with comfy chairs, a pool table, ping pong table and a TV. There is a Publix close by to get food and supplies as well as other stores nearby, and it is not far from the Village with many shops and restaurants. The beach was beautiful with comfortable chairs and umbrellas and were easy to reserve. The white Siesta Key sand is cool and soft on your feet and the water was great to wade and swim in. Awesome sunsets.

Do not be fooled, this hotel allows 8 people in a 3 or 4 bedroom that doesn’t mean it’s a family. Our stay was ruined by a group of 20 year olds that cussed and smoked ***** on the beach. When we complained we were told “if they can pay, they can stay” we’ve been coming here for years, it was our favorite now that it’s not family friendly we’ll look for a new place.
