GROSS!!!! Stay Away!!!! We stayed here several years ago and it was wonderful. It has gone downhill and not clean anymore. Our shower was full of mold and mildew. There was blood splatters on the bathroom doorframe. But….. I got a wet towel and could wipe up the blood and some of the mold/mildew stains, which means the hotel cleaning staff could do the same. Some Clorox would go a long way at this hotel. I left a message for the manager 2 days in a row and still have not received a call back. If you are going to charge top tier prices, you also need to have top tier cleaning.

I worked with the Josh King to organize a concert as a fundraiser for my alma mater. Josh was super easy and efficient to work with us and helped us to plan an amazing event. Kirsten (sp?) who was on site the day of the event made sure we had everything we needed. We also stayed overnight, and the accommodations were lovely. Everyone we encountered from front desk to bartenders to event staff helped to make our stay so enjoyable. Hotel Saranac, I can't wait to come bac!!

Hotel Saranac is a great base for hiking the Adirondacks. Several high peaks are within easy driving distance. Our room was small but comfortable. Had a nice drink at downstairs bar after first hike (Hurricane). The bartender (can't remember her name; short blond hair) knew a lot about all the hikes and helped us decide which to choose next (Ampersand). Front-desk staff very friendly and helpful as well. Nori's is within walking distance if you want a Whole Foods type market for trail food; Grand Union is right next door to that. RiverTrail brewpub, also within walking distance of hotel, was terrific for dinner.

We had the most delightful dinner experience at the Hotel Saranac’s restaurant Camp Fire. Chef Christian came out to greet us and told us about the evening specials…absolutely delicious. Our bartender, Danny was wonderful. She helped us choose a bottle of wine to complement the meal and Kristyn offered to decant the wine which was such a nice touch. We will be heading back soon! I have stayed at this hotel many times. The reception staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the rooms are lovely. They vary in sizes, but they are always clean and nicely decorated. The bathrooms are very nice and the huge, thick fluffy towels are appreciated. The beds and the pillows are the most comfortable I think I’ve ever slept on. Their restaurant, the Campfire Grill, recently obtained a new executive chef and he is absolutely amazing. My dinner was wonderful in every way possible. I had the duck confit (the special of the evening) and I did not leave one morsel of the meal on my plate. The duck and the accompanying vegetables were perfectly cooked and the presentation was beautiful. I do have to mention the staff, to include Tyler, who is always so pleasant and provides wait excellence service, the hostess Marla, who can’t do enough for you, and Rachel, who is a master bartender and made the best our bourbon Manhattan I’ve ever had. I look forward to returning and enjoying another lovely evening there.

Stayed 4 nights with a cycling tour. Room was small but comfortable. Hated the bathroom as there is no place to put your stuff. Staff super friendly. Don’t like the soft pillows. Note there is an elevator that goes to the 2nd floor only (bar area) so if you are on a higher floor you either take your luggage up stairs to get to the elevator that goes to higher floors or you exit at the bar area and get on the other elevator. That was a pain since we had so much gear we were carrying. I think this might be the only hotel so close to all the shops and cycling so it works.

Our choice to stay here was a last minute one due to the threat of rains at the campsite we'd intended to sleep in. The bed was like in a fairy tale - so comfortable and cozy. The food at the "Camp Fire" restaurant was spectacular (we even spoke with the chef which was an added treat!!). And the location allowed for easy walking to the charming town of Saranac. Highly recommended!!

We love Upstate New York What a wonderful trip, first timers to the Adirondack's and it was AMAZINGLY AWESOME. Saranac Lake is a laid back fun little village. You have the faster past in Lake Placid which was a short scenic drive. We rode our bikes along the Rail Trail, shopped in both towns, very good restaurants - had barbeque and the BEST Brussel Sprouts at Smoke Signals in Lake Placid.

Wonderful dinner experience, brussel sprout appetizers, trout, blackened salmon , tortellini mac n cheese, blueberry ,maple cream home made cheesecake...all delish.! Cheesecake was a comp for a birthday! Highly recommend this venue ..friendly and involved wait staff
