We reserved the entire motel for a wedding weekend. The Astro went above and beyond in facilitating the event and making sure everyone's stay was the best. We had a food truck in the rear garden area, tables in the garden, ,and conversation around the fire pit. The consensus opinion from family and friends was that the Astro made the wedding weekend wonderful- the retro ambiance, garden to wander in, and friendly and helpful staff were all appreciated. It was the first such large event the Astro hosted with the entire hotel reserved,, and based on our experience it won't be the last for special events such as ours. Thanks for everything, Astro!

Sweet little motel with a funky, laid-back vibe. My only note would be that the air conditioner was extremely loud and made for terrible sleep. It felt like we were sleeping in an industrial factory. So, if you are travelling during warm weather months, you might want to consider this.

The motel is nothing short of amazing. Vintage MCM furniture in the rooms. Friendly staff. Cool grounds. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back into 1962, but with a modern edge. Amazing place. Amazing stay. Love it here.

When staying in Santa Rosa, you don’t want to miss the Astro Motel. I can’t wait to go back to this amazing retro art hotel with the best bed I’ve ever slept in. Just fancy yet comfortable enough with an incredible staff that instantly feel like friends. The rooms are lovely and calming with big nesty beds and pretty retro furniture and art. Outside are pathways through a landscape including sculptures, big citrus trees and other surprises. The fascinating Retro Lounge serves a delish continental breakfast. The lounge is open to guests all day. For whatever kind of travel, the Astro is so relaxing and uplifting at the same time. I found it such a joy to start and end my days here. The Astro also has an excellent location.

As advertised, cute, retro vibe. But beware: there are lots of issues if you desire quiet and you need a restful night's sleep. 1) All four pillows were eight inches high and rock hard. 2) The street and highway traffic were loud, and added a stressful white noise. 3) The air conditioner was so loud and wheezy (old system!) I couldn't sleep even with earplugs. But it was warm out and so I needed the cooling effect. 4) The other noise in the hotel was prominent--you can really hear people in the other rooms. I was on business so I literally had to leave the hotel in the middle of the night and find a different place. I called the manager to let her know and she kindly said she'd refund the night as well as the next night which I had booked. In the morning I found they had charged me for the one night anyway--so much for the nice words in the middle of the night. When I emailed to inquire about why they had changed their mind, they told me it was "policy." Bottom line: if you like cute rugs, wood furniture and a garden to sit in but you do NOT need quiet and comfort, then the Astro is for you.

This small retro motel is a Santa Rosa gem. We stayed here on our trip to Sebastapol. It's in a great location. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable, with funky decor and a nice bathroom. We enjoyed the firepit and the complimentary breakfast the next morning and sat in the sunny courtyard. It was quiet and felt really private. Would absolutely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay here! Our room (we stayed in a King kitchenette room) was spacious and decorated in style with very fun retro furnishings and appliances. We enjoyed having our morning coffee and granola at the kitchen table. It is VERY centrally located to downtown Santa Rosa, which is bustling with bars and restaurants. We also ate the Spinster Sisters, two times actually, we had to go back for more beautiful food and wine. The only drawback for us was no pool. We always enjoy late afternoon pool time after a day of wine tasting! But, the grounds are lovely. Also, thought it was odd that no lotion was provided in the room or at the front desk or in the vending machine, which actually had many fun items (smile).
