"Food and hospitality good! Time for new beds. Humidity through out the hotel. Had it's own smell to it. Carpet in all areas of hotel. Fastly needs make over already. Carpet bad idea."
Home2 Suites by Hilton Springfield
"Everything was neat, clean, and well organized. Shaina was especially wonderful, she helped me fix my payment mistake. I had never stayed in a Home2Suites before and I will seek these out in the future. Our bathroom door didn’t shut lock but it wasn’t a big deal for me."
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Springfield Southeast
"Express quality, star-rated price, behind the gas station, next to the highway, there are several motels nearby, the price is only about 600, I didn't like to stay here so I decided to stay here, very disappointed."
State House Inn
"This hotel seemed a good value but we had a major issue. After several tries, even the staff could not get the key card to work. Another room was provided but unfortunately, we could not access medication, feminine hygiene products, toiletries, food/water. I deducted points from the service score as we were left without updates as to when maintenance would assist us. Trip customer service reported that nobody would answer the phone when they tried to assist us. It was not until I inquired that were were informed were would be locked out until the next morning. As a result, I had to go out and purchase necessities. Despite the cost and inconvenience all Trip.com offered was $5 in coins, which is unacceptable. The hotel said they would refund to our card but since we booked Trip the couldn't do anything. That said, the staff was courteous and professional, one staff member even loaned us a phone charge cable which was appreciated. The room itself was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and this was the best part of the stay. Breakfast: I don't recommend the breakfast. The offerings were very similar to other hotels but preparation seems to be the weak link. For example, the sausage appeared to have just thawed and was colder than room temp. The eggs were watery with brown chunks in them, perhaps from scorching the bottom. TLDR: Our needs were minimal and without our difficulties with the key cards and breakfast this would have been a good value. It's concerning that a hotel doesn't have a way to access a room in an emergency scenario."

Residence Inn Springfield South
"I stayed at the Residence Inn – Springfield South on December 13, 2025, using my annual Marriott Bonvoy credit card reward. I am a frequent traveler, long-time Marriott customer, and Bonvoy cardholder, and I chose this property because I expected a reliable, comfortable stay from a brand I have trusted for decades. I was in town for an important family milestone—my mother’s doctoral graduation. After spending the evening with family, I checked in just before midnight. It was brutally cold outside, with temperatures approaching single digits, and all I wanted was a warm room and a good night’s sleep. Unfortunately, that’s not what I got. Upon entering the room, it was unusually cold. I turned the heat up, assuming it simply needed time to warm up. It never did. I eventually bundled up and tried to sleep, but later realized the thermostat had not changed temperature at all—the heater simply was not working. I also discovered that the toilet in the room was not functioning. Early the morning of December 14, I reported both issues to the front desk. Maintenance was dispatched, but since I was checking out later that morning, I was told the room would likely just be taken out of service. That did nothing to address the fact that I still had hours remaining on my stay in an unusable room. Maintenance was unable to fix either the heat or the toilet. As a result, we were forced to use the restroom in the hotel’s common area for the remainder of our stay—completely unacceptable under any circumstance, especially given the weather and the brand standards Marriott claims to uphold. At checkout, I was told a note would be left for the General Manager and that I would receive enough Marriott Bonvoy points to cover a future free night. Over 10 days passed with no call, no email, no message, and no points. Then, 17 days after the stay, I finally received an email stating that 2,500 points had been deposited into my account. For context, that is barely enough to buy a snack in the hotel marketplace—certainly not compensation for a freezing room, a non-functioning toilet, or the complete lack of follow-through. I have been staying at Marriott properties for over 40 years, and this was the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. The lack of urgency during the stay, followed by the delayed and insulting response afterward, reflects a serious breakdown in both operations and accountability. If you are forced to stay at this property, check immediately that your heat works, your toilet functions, and your water gets hot—and if you are promised anything in response to a problem, make sure you receive it before you leave the hotel. This experience fell far short of Marriott standards."
Days Inn by Wyndham Springfield

Courtyard Springfield
Red Roof Inn Springfield, IL
"We were exhausted from loading the U-Haul. We arrived at the hotel at 1:30am tired and ready to get a decent night’s sleep. Boy were we wrong. To start, the door didn’t have a room number. The room was awful. There were cigarette burns in the sheets and blankets. There was also dirt on the sheets. The bathtub was disgusting. We slept with our clothes on for fear what might be on the linens. The door wouldn’t lock. Thank goodness I put the hook on the door. When we woke up the door was open about 1/2 inch. To make things better, it was snowing outside. The owners didn’t care at all."

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Springfield IL
"Cleanliness: It was alright, felt neat and clean. Environment: The room was unique, with a purple theme. Service: The front desk staff were okay, friendly and efficient. There were several people in line to check in, but it was all very quick."
