Worst experience ever. The sound of the river and setting is wonderful. The receptionist was awful and the owner refused me entry until he was convinced payment was made. I sent four confirmations from my bank of payment and was treated like a criminal. Could not enter and receptionist said she could not deal with me and walked away leaving me alone in reception for 20 minutes although I had already paid before even arriving. Showed her proof directly from my bank account. Then overheard owner tell her he thought I was suspicious. Very unprofessional and nasty service.

This was a great find. It was recommended to me by the concierge at the Palazzo Montecasino. I went by and visited and instantly knew that I wanted to host a group at this amazing place! Great food, wonderful ambiance, beautiful artwork and warm service. While I have never stayed in the hotel, I have viewed most of the rooms which are named after different African countries with decor and art to match. It’s set against a lovely roaring river with the seating areas also themed after African countries/cities like Morocco and Zanzibar. Upon arrival, you can also choose to dress up in traditional garb which adds to the fun. A unique and interesting destination with lovely owners/managers too! A fun visit while in Johannesburg!
