Fantastic little secluded spot with fantastic shepherds huts and good fishing. We had 4 of the 5 huts for a weekend and they are lovely, we had a very chilled time in the huts, having bbqs, chatting around the fire pits and watching all of the birds. The huts have some lovely touches like little mice and animals and have all you need for a few days away. The fishing was good, caught plenty. We were disappointed we couldn’t bring the dogs as we went to the races, as it would be a perfect spot for them to run around safely.

I Have to say that we had a really nice stay at the Morndyke Shephards Huts, some really nice things about it but a couple of things not so good but still enjoyable non the less. I’ll start with the downsides and get that out of the way then move on to what was good about it. The main issue was comfort, “Yes I know it’s a shephards hut” but I still expect a decent mattress, sleep quality was really poor for both of us as a result of this, easily fixed by replacing the mattress with a decent one, I use the word decent as the mattress was really poor and decent would be good enough, secondly make sure you take a travel iron with you as there is no ironing facility on site or in your hut. That said we still enjoyed our stay, The hut had everything that you need (Other than an iron) and the outdoor area was great, we stayed in Flopsy right next to the bird feeding station which was really nice to watch, there is also a fishing lake right next to the huts which is very popular with local anglers and from what I witnessed with good reason just from having a few brief walks around the lake I witnessed Tench, Carp, and decent sized Roach being caught so clearly well worth a visit for fishing alone. their is a small shop on site selling cakes and other nicknaks you might need, but the best thing is you are free to use the washing machine and dryer for free but we popped a couple of pounds in the honesty box when we used it. you can also purchase fore wood for £2.00 a bucket from the carpark but it’s mainly small pieces for the burner in the hut so I recommend buying logs elsewhere for the campfire outside. If you want a bit of a night out we found Thirsk a very friendly place, we visited 5 pubs and the people were very friendly but I would recommend sorting you travel both into thirsk and back before you go. overall well worth a visit at £110.00 per night I think slightly overpriced by maybe £15.00 per night based on other similar breaks we have had this year, but enjoyable overall.

Ignoring the fact that you are staying in a very small room, this is a great place to stay. Small kitchenette, bathroom with shower , loo and sink, double bed ( there was a single bunk too, but that would have been a person TOO many) , with lots of nice touches - books, binoculars, decorations, outside seating round a firepit. You can buy logs for the fire ( it then got too hot!) and other goodies from the supplies hut, borrow wellies or extra blankets. Very dog friendly with good walks around the fields. We will be back.

Beautiful location and Shepherd’s huts I had a fantastic stay at Morndykes shepherds huts. The location of the farm is truly remarkable, offering a perfect blend of tranquility in the open fields, while still being conveniently close to nearby attractions and amenities. It was a delight to experience such a peaceful retreat with the option to easily venture into town. The welcome book was extremely helpful, providing all the essential information about the hut as well as local dining and shopping recommendations. This added a thoughtful touch to my stay. Moreover, the added convenience of the little on-site shop was a great feature, with a range of useful items like firelighters and cleaning products readily available as well as the availability of a washer and dryer. I also appreciated the spare Wellington boots and blankets provided, which demonstrated your attention to detail and commitment to ensuring guests feel at home. Thank you once again for a wonderful experience. I look forward to the opportunity of staying at your lovely property again in the future.

Beautiful hut, would highly recommend staying here. Host communication was unclear, towels and bedding are optional extras but not obvious when booking. Excellent accommodation.

Lovely location in working farm. Stayed at the annex which is spacious, cozy, very tastefully decorated. Smart TV , books puzzles. Immediately relaxing Lots todo in surrounding area. I enjoyed trip out to Sutton Bank and the White Horse. Despite it being winter it was great to have blast . Tricia has a book of places to see which is very helpful
