Great location. Very friendly staff. The room was clean and the area quiet. Coffee in the rooms and small danishes for breakfast.

I prepaid through a booking agent for 3 nights. When I arrived I discovered that there wasn't a microwave as was advertised. Since they required a $150 deposit, I made a video of the entire room verifying that upon entering there was no microwave and any other damage so there would be no confusion about me taking it or damaging anything. The front desk person didn't offer to bring me one but I let it pass because I was mostly concerned with not getting my deposit back. The next morning I asked if they would give me a copy of my receipt and note on it that the room had no microwave. He refused and then someone who claimed to be the hotel manager and owner called right back and said because I was so rude by insisting I have something from them verifying there was no microwave t that I was to leave immediately. This was just a little past 9 a.m. after I had just gotten out of the shower. He would not listen to reason. Called back literally a couple minutes later and said he had called ******* to request I be refunded two nights. I let him know I did not make the reservation through *******. He insisted I did--it was on his computer. The listing agent I used said they are not affiliated with ******* and my bank shows the funds were not given to *******. Anyway--very scary. It was a non-refundable reservation on my end but given that the hotel canceled it obviously it should needs to be. So far nothing but I opened a dispute with the bank. Fortunately I have taken a victim awareness course so verified the whole horrible episode but you never get compensated for a ruined vacation, do you? Apparently I should have read the reviews on Tripadvisor. Continue to live and learn...

No AIR CONDITIONING - terrible front desk person on 6/28/25 BERRRY RIDE DIDNT CARE ABOUT HAVING NO AIR CONDITIONING!!!!!

Don't be fooled by the pictures of the Lamplighter Inn! The room was dirty. The carpet was old and stained. There was hair and mold in the bathroom. There was no handle to close the shower door and it would not close all the way. The electrical outlet was so worn out that my phone charger could not stay plugged in. We went to get coffee in the morning at a local coffee spot and upon returning our keys would not open the room. We had to go to the office at 7:00 am to get the keys recharged and were hasseled for ID. It would have been better to sleep in the car.

The room wasn’t cleaned before we got in there. The sink was full of actual dirt and towels were still on the floor. The pillows and sheets had stains. The front desk person was very apologetic and tried getting us another room but even he wasn’t able to get 2 other rooms to open up (the doors were broken). At that point we just decided to get a refund.
