Tropicana Los Cabos, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

After a complete renovation lasting 4 years, this stunning property HOTEL TROPICANA re-opened less than a year ago in SAN JOSE DEL CABO to the very highest Hilton standard. It’s immaculate and modern when it needs to be, with restored charm at every turn. It seems like a museum of local sculptors’ art. If you travel alone, especially as a woman as I do, you’ll feel safe and looked after personally. If you prefer historic village charm (SAN JOSÉ DEL CABO), it’s here with plenty of excellent restaurants & high end shopping. There’s a local beach as well as (a half hour away) in CABO SAN LUCAS you’ll find other pristine beaches & dozens of resorts, fine restaurants and tourist services. Cabo San Lucas is massive while San Jose del Cabo is historic, compact & walkable. In CABO SAN LUCAS are tours of the Sea of Cortez including fishing, whale watching (in season) and glass bottom boats. You’ll admire the distinctive features of sea rock formations and desert landscapes of the “cape” (cabo) of Baja California. The Restaurant at the Tropicana Hilton is spectacular and some of the best chefs in the area have been hired. The bar has to be seen to be believed but more importantly CHRISTOPHER the bar & restaurant Manager is VERY charming & ITZEL (one of the top chefs) has assembled a winning menu. Good thing my stay was more than a week so I could try many of the fine entrees. Immediately across the street is the similarly elegant DON SANCHEZ restaurant with soothing live music and a killer seafood menu. Special Note: Tropicana Hilton staff including Primitivo, Daniel & Daniela at Reception are amazing as are Fabian, Citlalli, Hector, Luis, Pressy and others in the restaurant.

We travel to Cabo San Lucas fairly often, and we really enjoy tagging a couple of nights in San Jose onto our trip. We’ve tried a couple of the ocean front resorts, but we really like staying in the art district and being able to walk everywhere. We have now stayed at the three best art district hotels: Casa Natalia, Flamboyan, and now Tropicana. All are nice, but we found the Tropicana to be a little better than the other two. They did a really nice job with the remodel, the pool area is lovely and there are several little patio areas to relax. What really put Tropicana over the top was the service. Everyone we encountered was absolutely wonderful. From Nacho who is the Jack of all trades - valet, bellman, and probably many other things - to the bartenders, cleaning staff, and desk staff, every team member was excellent. We have finally found our favorite San Jose spot.

Very friendly and accommodating. By afternoon had to ask for room makeup twice in 6 days.
