The staff at The Jay were incredibly helpful, professional, and friendly. I have high standards when it comes to cleanliness and bed comfort, and both exceeded my expectations. Getting around was simple, whether on foot or using Waymo. The view from my room was stunning, and overall, I had a fantastic stay.

I was extremely disappointed with both the service and the cleanliness of the hotel. For the price I paid, I expected a much higher standard. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations, and I definitely didn’t get what I paid for.

Marriott's Designer Collection suite was a favorite, especially for its large sofa bed and proximity to the pier. It also had an outdoor balcony with views both day and night, including the suspension bridge. The airport is a 30-minute drive away. The restaurant is on the third floor, and breakfast requires ordering, which can be a bit long. There's also a simple coffee bar for emergencies. One oddity: Even though the hotel had a sign indicating it was closed, they still called in the morning to ask if the room needed to be cleaned. Five-star hotels generally don't call so quickly, especially considering jet lag. Room service is only available until 10 p.m. Arriving late, I had no food, and SF's security isn't great at night, so I had to order takeout. The takeout was left at the door, and the trash bags weren't picked up 24 hours a day. The hotel has its own policies, which is fine, but some of the arrangements lack warmth.
