The Globe Inn

We have each visited here on separate occasions but today we visited as a couple. We booked a table as we know how popular it can be having passed many times on our way to other places and seeing it packed. We had asked for a quiet table away from the hustle and bustle, we were not disappointed at all! We were the first people to arrive by the looks of it and upon entering we were show to our talent the window and the roaring fire. The owner or manager Aaron came over and spent a good time chatting with us and it made us feel so welcome and like regulars (we will likely become regulars!) our drink order was taken really quickly and then we ordered our food. We chose the starters off the specials menu (Thai prawns and Korean chicken) and the mains we had chosen before arriving off the online menu (USA burger and Black & Blue burger) the portions of the starter were amazing! The burgers were really tasty and came with French fries and onion rings, all cooked beautifully and we also liked the fact you could chosen burger or chicken (my husband can only eat poultry!) It didn’t take long for the place to fill up and soon felt alive with the sound of people chatting and enjoying themselves. We felt the place has a really friendly atmosphere and homely! If I had to put anyway, I would say you felt like a member of an extended family. We can’t wait to visit again soon!

Stayed here to break the journey up from Cornwall to Yorkshire What a fantastic village pub with super friendly staff great bar and really good home cooked food Check in really easy great room with a big fan which we needed because it was very warm I was concerned about road noise but this proved to be insignificant The bathroom had just been modernised and was extremely well appointed Breakfast was a great continental followed by an hot breakfast of your choice I went for a small full English which was plenty great ingredients and very tasty All in all a fantastic stay Had a chat with the proprietor in the morning who was very pleasant and it always makes a difference when people who are uptake time to have a chat Well done the Globe

Enjoyable stay We were visiting friends and the location was perfect. There was plenty of free parking available, check in was smooth and our room was comfortable and clean. The owners are currently updating all areas of the property and the areas that haven’t been done yet look tired. Breakfast was very good with plenty of options and we enjoyed a lovely walk along the canal after breakfast. During our stay all staff members were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.
