St Mellion Estate
8.3 (104 reviews)

St Mellion Estate ★★★★

📍 St Mellion, Saltash

"A mixed experience. We booked for the pool facilities, which were great. We ate in the restaurant on our first evening - excellent food and very good service. The breakfast was good too. Some buts, though. Our room had a very uncomfortable bed, a strange electrical light show from some devices in the ceiling once we turned the lights out and a repeated electrical buzzing sound all through the night which disrupted our sleep. The staff moved us to a much more comfortable room on the second night. The floors upstairs were so bouncy that it felt like the hotel must have the underlying structure of a rickety prefab - very odd and a little unsettling. And the restaurant had no character at all - an almost sterile feel. All a bit odd. While the pool, the food and the service really were great, and the many golfers who visited were clearly delighted, some of the spaces do need a refurb and a rethink."

Brunel Inn ★★★

📍 83 Fore St, Saltash

"It was a room above a bar, there was no hot water in the room, and there were no towels upon check-in, but the staff were friendly."

The Crooked Inn

The Crooked Inn ★★★★

📍 Stoketon Cross, Saltash

"Has everything you may need for a night's stay. Bed was comfortable. It wasn't very clean, with cobwebs in every corner of the room and a couple spiders aswell. I had to get rid of a few mosquitos as well. There was dust on light fittings and lamp shades, the bathroomlifght switch didnt look like it had been cleaned. The room had a very noticeable damp smell in the air and there were small spots of what looked like mould, on the bathroom ceiling. The toilet seat was stained a yellow colour 🤢(its only a few quid for a new 1🫤). The carpet hadn't seemed to be hoovered before I arrived as there was some dirt and dead insects lying around. Luckily I didn't have to spend too much time in the room, most of the time I was sleeping, otherwise I would have asked to stay in another room to be very honest. The breakfast was really good though!"

Travelodge Saltash

Travelodge Saltash ★★★

📍 Callington Rd, Saltash

"Great place to stay after a long drive from Scotland. The hotel was tucked away at the edge of the services with the lorry park behind. It was surprisingly very quiet from mid-evening through to 9am when we left. The hotel is well kept and the team very helpful to deal with a couple of questions we had. Obviously (being on a services area) there are several food places available with a nearby small retail park nearby too to visit. I’d happily use this Travelodge hotel again when we are back in the area as it’s great value for money"

"Excellent hotel, clean room, friendly staff and excellent facilities. The only downside was that the jacuzzi was out of action. This is our 3rd stay and we are looking forward to comming back in the summer."

The Crooked Inn ★★★★
"Really enjoyed our stay. The staff were lovely, very friendly and welcoming and the room was clean and had everything we needed including fresh milk. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was excellent. The tuna dish outstanding. Breakfast every morning was also excellent- especially the eggs Benedict and smoked salmon. Would definitely visit again. Thanks."

Travelodge Saltash ★★★
"Despite being amongst the services, this location was very peaceful and quiet outside and inside. Very secure, plenty of parking, very spacious rooms and very good for accessibility. The room was spotless and staff very welcoming and friendly. They were even welcoming to my dog, and it is nice having a dog friendly hotel so we could travel with her and not worry. Everything is on the doorstep and great access to days out in Cornwall, and some leaflets and vouchers available for some local attractions. Would thoroughly recommend staying here!"
