"Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our stay. Our beds were not changed once throughout the entire stay, which is really unacceptable for a hotel. The biggest issue, however, was the pool. On two separate occasions someone had defecated in the pool, and the way this was dealt with by the hotel staff was honestly vile. It certainly didn’t leave us feeling confident about the cleanliness or hygiene of the pool afterwards. The food itself was nice, but became extremely repetitive, with very little variety throughout our stay. On top of this, some of the staff were noticeably rude and unhelpful, which really put a dampener on the experience. There were some positives, but unfortunately they were outweighed by the cleanliness issues, poor pool hygiene, repetitive food and attitude of some of the staff. We certainly wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend this hotel based on our experience."

"If I could , I would give -4. It's definately not 4 star hotel, room was terably uncleaned, bathroom was the worst. It looked like it wasnt clean all season of not longer. During a 1week stay , cleaning wasn't done, just collectimg rubish & fixing towels, beds made. All dost and dirt stayed all week. Avoid this hotel if you can, apart from good location it doesn't have what to offer... Breakfast was ok, dinners usually food was cold... in general all enviroment , staff does look happy there...It distroyed my mood for all the rest of holidays"

"We stayed for three nights with three people, but all the amenities were only enough for two people, so we had to go to the front desk every time to get towels, etc. All the water and cups were only enough for two people, and the drinks were really expensive."

"Booked a room with a Jacuzzi, specifically choosing from options with either a hot tub or Jacuzzi. However, I received a room with only a hot tub and the pool was inaccessible. I drove four hours for one of our rare romantic weekends, specifically hoping to enjoy a Jacuzzi in the room and a pool at the hotel. None of that happened! The staff were unwelcoming, impolite, and disrespectful. This is a very basic hotel with nothing special to offer, and it's overpriced for the lack of services (literally none!). Extremely disappointing! You can definitely find better for less money!"

"On arrival our balcony doors were broken, when opened they stayed open half way. Then the air con unit started leaking and coming away in the corner. Staff really weren't bothered and left us to deal with it at 4am, it didn't get fixed until after 10am, water everywhere. Apparently it happens all the time because the system can't cope with the amount of guests using it at the same time!! It happened to multiple guests during our stay. The bedding wasn't changed during our stay and the cleaners are only in the room for literally a few minutes to change towels and make beds. We had to keep requesting new soap as it wasn't being restocked. The food is terrible and we ended up eating out most of the time. The food is not fresh each day and the same food is on for days in a row, very limited choice. The pool is open from 9.30am but you cannot use the pool until 11am when the lifeguard comes on duty. Very strict rules and children were constantly being told to keep quiet. There are no bar snacks apart from ice-cream and crisps. The children's entertainment is only now and then and there is no timetable so it's pot luck if you get it. The hotel is in a residential area and the locals were not friendly or welcoming. The hotel is more set up for Spanish guests. I disagree this is a 4 star hotel and I wouldn't stay again."

"For a start beware of booking with trip. I booked for me and my 3 boys 14, 12, and 10 years old. When I got to the hotel they told me there would be an additional charge of 1500 euros for my 2 younger boys. So if the price looks cheap on trip please check with the hotel. As a single mother this was a terrible blow at the start of my holiday. The room was unclean, the hotel claims to had had a massive refurbishment however the only changes was the colour scheme in the living area of the room. The bathroom was the same as last year when we stayed with one addition, it was unclean. The main wardrobe in the living room had no hangers, I asked at reception and was told there was non to be had. There are now drawers in the apartment. They have taken away a cabinet under the tv and replaced it with two round tables that really serve no purpose. Even the dressing table had no drawers. There are two tables either side of the bed but no cabinets with drawers. I went to get a glass from the kitchen only to discover that the entire kitchen was devoid of equipment. Again I asked reception to be told I had to request the kitchen equipment. When the plates, etc arrived the cleaning lady dumped a box containing everything on the floor in the room. Not really what one would except from a “4” star hotel. The room was only cleaned every day at around 3pm. The floors were never washed, I had to ask for clean sheets, The bed wasn’t made properly and the bathroom never touched. I found out from one of the cleaning staff that there are only 10 cleaning staff on a morning and the 1 on an afternoon the poor staff couldn’t. It is impossible to get sunbeds at the pool. On a morning people start lining their bags containing towels at 7am then the pool is supposed to open at 9am. I went down a few times at 8.45 only to find the doors open and all sunbeds reserved with towels even though it states on the website that it is not permitted to reserve beds. Also the numbers of sunbeds at the pool is less than half of what it was last year when I stayed. The food in the restaurant was disgusting, absolutely full of grease, the children’s food was atrocious me and my kids tried eat there three times but couldn’t eat a thing. I complained to the manager but he was very rude and shrugged his shoulders when I explained the problem. I will not return to the hotel, I love Salou but not that terrible place. It is most definitely not a four star hotel. I wouldn’t even give it a two star. Photos of the bathroom.
