Great location lovely room and breakfast with a smile all good

Hotel was full of old world charm. Clean rooms and staff very friendly. A shout out to Yasmin ,Josh and all the staff. Thoughtful and helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. If you love to experience history this is the hotel for you.Would recommend it. We came to visit Audley End House. No on site parking. But carpark 5 mins away.

This hotel was a lifesaver- literally! I flew to England from the US as I had not heard from a close family friend for two months. I had a feeling something was not right. I was correct. Without going into the frightening details, I managed to rescue my friend, and the victimizer is now in jail. Jim, the manager, and Sam, the cleaner turned server at night, were absolutely amazing. They were very compassionate and caring about the emergency. The room was small, but very comfortable. After all, you are staying in a historic building. The full English breakfast was full, very generous and delicious. Warm and welcoming, if you decide you want to visit this part of Essex and soak in local history, this is the place to stay.

Room was nice , but very dark , no windows apart from small sky light. Winding outside staircase not easily accessible for those with limited mobility. Room cold on arrival as air conditioning set to high. Once switched off room smelt stale. Location is great for market , shops etc. Check in at 4pm and out at 10am unless you are prepared to pay extra. Car Park is a 5 min walk away . Breakfast very good.

A fabulous place to stay Amazing and great value lunch, a fabulous breakfast, staff were all lovely and helpful, car park not on site but this was not a problem as the nearest is a few minutes walk away and not too expensive ( download the app for ease) free WiFi and a comfortable bed with a lovely room.

Avoid the rooms facing the centre. Very old hotel, room was ok, bed really comfortable, very small TV, hot water for the sink took ages to come through. My room was at the front of the hotel very noisy with the traffic and people and the road sweeper at 6am. Food was average, no fish & chips as the fish was defrosting 😂, only had all day to sort that, had the burger and asked without sauce and came with sauce. Finally, chargeable car park which is a 5 minute walk away.
