Umutuzo - according to Philippe something like serenity, relaxendess from Kinyruanda - that‘s it. This Place is a jewel in the middle of a Country in full development with plenty of natural Sites to discover and still not fully discovered by Touristen. Don‘t worry, Philippe and his team will make you discover :-) Really enjoyed pur week there!

Calm peacefull beautifull relaxing fresh amazing view. The topography is very helpful for weight control...it is a constant exercise. The rooms are clean, the service is superb.

Greatly enjoyed our ‘only too short’ stay at this lodge . Rooms were comfortable , clean and had great views of the lake . Philippe and his team took good care of us providing great service and delicious meals !

Poor value for money: no proper standards for a lodge charging USD 188 per night. Unprofessional management, even suggesting I should buy slippers myself.

We spent 4 nights at Umutuzo lodge with our 3 children (ages 11, 10 & 7) and truly loved it. The location on the shore of the beautiful lake, with exceptional views is just breathtaking. But also the lodge itself is beautifuly designed and constructed with great eye for detail. The outside shower is fantastic - no need to use the one inside. Philipp, Eric and the rest of the team made us feel very welcoming and are great hosts. The atmosphere is very laid back, lovely food and enough to explore around the lodge for those who like activities. We could have easily stayed a full week at Umutuzo and would truly recommend this location to anyone travelling to Rwanda!

You had a stressful time and need to disconnect & rest or you need to spend a wknd out of Kigali? Umutuzo lodge is the right place to go to. The place, staff, food, experience.. everything is just amazing, not mentioning the owner Philippe Velings' customer care which is on point.

We had a beautiful time as a family, spacious family rooms, food was delicious, owner & staff friendly & welcoming. I can’t wait for the road to be done so I can visit more often.
