The Ruby Hotel

A decision was made to visit family in Austin, TX. Usually when we stay in Austin we stay around the Domain. This time we wanted to stay a bit more outside of Austin. While looking through Round Rock this fun place called "The Ruby" popped up. I was a bit hesitant, but finally made the reservation. We traveled mid week. Thinking that perhaps there may be limited services etc (this has been our experience at other boutique type places where most of their business is on the weekends)Check in was a bit differnt. We had a small confusion finding our room. Kyle even called me to help me locate it. Our room was just as it looked in the photos. We got a creek view room with a small balcony. We could see the egrets come in the evening to roost. We booked for 2 nights our room was a dream. We slept well. I usually travel with my pillow, but I really didn't need it here. As I mentioned we traveled mid week. The bar (which is in the old house that the hotel is built around) was an equal dream. The place was full of young folks (we are Boomers on the younger edge of the scale) It was loud and fun. There is a deck out back that we enjoyed on both nights. The sunsets were to die for. We had hoped to enjoy the pool, but rain came (and brought us the most wonderful double rainbow) If or when we travel to the Austin area we will not hesitate to book this place. Food is limited, but what they have is great. Drinks were the best and the wait staff and the manager were the best. One more thing. Props to Kyle, when I called him to say it was a bit warm in our room, he quickly ajusted the temp (they do that in the main office) and he brought us a fan. Don't want our hidden gem to get too popular but I would not to deny anyone else from enjoying this place.

We decided on a quick trip to Austin. We did not want to stay directly in Austin. After a short search we found The Ruby. It looked fun. We booked for 2 nights. It was lovely. Quirky, and cozy. Would have loved to stay longer but we had to get home

We’ve stayed here twice. I absolutely love the style and the decor. The bar is fabulous and tho I wouldn’t walk thru the surrounding neighborhoods, I would def grab a quick uber to the square for dinner. My only complaint is that they don’t allow you to lower the thermostat or adjust the fan on the ac. They will provide a fan if you ask.

Service is Superb here! Check-in was amazing. The guy should receive an award for going above and beyond to make you feel like a vip. His name was Kyle. Restaurant and Bar had great service with yummy cosmos.

Stop scrolling and book! I. Love. This. Hotel!! I almost quit my job to stay in the bed longer. Honestly I didn’t even feel the need to walk the gorgeous property because my room and balcony were so comfy. I turned on some nice mood lighting, synced to the Bluetooth, and drank a beautiful Nespresso while reading the history of the hotel. The toiletries were fantastic and I’m still sniffing my hair from the shampoo. Stay in this hotel. It’s quiet and peaceful and…the best. Easy parking and self-service.

Views were amazing but my old back did not get a wink of sleep, the beds were super hard. While the views and location were great, I’m almost 50 and need a good nights rest. Will not be a return customer.
