There are many gift shops around Plaza de España, and there are also very good luxury stores near the subway station. There are also many restaurants. Other nearby attractions are also very close. It is a great location.

Housed in a 19th-century palace and steeped in history that dates back to the mid-16th century, Hotel d’Inghilterra was once the residence of Roman nobility — specifically, Prince Torlonia. The hotel exudes classical elegance, with Renaissance-inspired interiors and carefully curated artworks that reflect its storied past. Last year, the hotel was closed for renovation when I visited Rome, so I made it a point to return this year just to experience it. This is the very hotel that the English Romantic poet John Keats once referred to as “home.” Did you know? Countless European royals, Hollywood moguls, and literary greats have stayed here — including Lord Byron, Mark Twain, Ernest Hemingway, and Elizabeth Taylor. The location is simply unbeatable. Just steps from the entrance are two of Rome’s most iconic luxury shopping streets — Via dei Condotti and Via Borgognona — and it’s only a two-minute walk to the Spanish Steps. Inside, the rooms are tastefully decorated with hand-blown Murano glass chandeliers, alongside modern textiles and updated amenities — a perfect blend of old-world charm and contemporary comfort.

The Staff, Marco greeting us to take our luggage upon arrival to our Amazing Check-in Gentleman who went over and Above to assist after our long journey from Charleston SC @ 10:30am EST then arriving @ 7 am Italy time with no sleep. We enjoyed breakfast, our Most Helpful concierge gave us the best options for our interests, offered applicable tours narrowing our search to cover our specific site list. We walked to Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Amazing Pantheon with amazing History and walked lovely side streets back to Archivio di Stato then onto awesome shopping surrounding the Hotel. We entered our beautiful room to shower and enjoyed a wonderful dinner in Cafe Romano with Adriano manager/sommelier and attentive/kind Matteo our waiter then slept 12 hrs only to be greeting by both of them for a magnificent breakfast along with Gemma! We spent the most wonderful 2 days in Rome THANKS to Hotel D'Inghilterra Staff and accomodations!

Absolutely beautiful hotel in the center of the Rome! Best stay, breakfast, best rooms! If you are still deciding where to stay, this is the only location!!! Staff is SUPER friendly and professional , so welcoming! Everything is walking distance, shopping, attractions and FOOD! We got an INCREDIBLE Upgrade, so unexpected! It was absolutely amazing experience and absolutely ENJOYABLE stay! The best stay we ever experienced! Few words about the staff...Francesca was super attentive, friendly and so much fun! She arranged a great hair spa appointments for me and my sister! Everyone we had to interact with were sooo polite, super friendly and sooo super attentive! Can't wait to visit Rome again and stay in this wonderful place!

The people who operate this hotel are the warmest, most professional, most thoughtful humans on the entire planet. The sweet gestures - chocolates and water every evening, the coordinate of the best private tour of the colosseum we will ever have, the pillows, the drinks, the notes from the Concierge team, this hotel is magnificent. Shout out to Angelo one of the bartenders who is a wonderful conversationalist! We adored him (and his magic superpower of mixology). Huge shout out to Augustina and her charm and heart of gold. It’s clear she and her team work so hard to make sure every guest is well cared for. We’ve never relaxed so well and so completely under the care of this hotel’s team.

What a fantastic hotel and amazing staff. We stayed at this hotel with Hilton and had a wonderful experience. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was very well appointed and modern. The location is ideal for a Roman experience in the heart of the old charm. The staff was superb and treated us with the highest level of service we could ask for. The morning breakfast was superb and dinner at the restaurant was fabulous. We will most definitely stay here again on our next visit to Rome.

What an absolute gem in the heart of Rome. A beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, excellent accommodation and great food. Stayed here as part of our Golden Wedding celebratory holiday and we are so pleased that we did. It was so memorable in many ways and really made our celebration

Everything was wonderful! Delicious breakfast, well appointed room, great location- convenient to Spanish steps and shopping areas . Hotel staff very accommodating. Alessio as well as entire staff to commended. We stayed for 3 nights When I return to Rome will certainly stay here again

Very central to popular tourist spots - Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo, shopping on Via dei Condotti, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Borghese Gardens etc. The staff (front desk, housekeeping, bar/restaurant) are all incredibly helpful and friendly. We had included breakfast (through Hilton Gold status as this is a SLH/Hilton property) and the breakfast spread was a treat each morning (especially the mini maritozzi). I wouldn't call it a small property, but we rarely ran into any other guests (outside of breakfast) and never waited at the front desk or restaurant. Rooms are well-sized for a Roman hotel. Housekeeping was timely for daily service and turndown and had no faults -- I especially liked the "buonanotte" embroidered pillows placed on the bed at night :) Hope to visit again soon!

Beautiful, full service hotel. Everything is wonderfully attended to. The concierge are helpful with useful recommendations. The breakfast is delicious and with good variety and is a great way to start each morning in Rome. Amazing location close to food and many attractions. Well worth the visit.

This is a beautiful hotel with tasteful decor and perfectly situated in the heart of Rome. The staff are welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food is good too. It’s not cheap but you get what you pay for. We will stay here again.

Fabulous hotel and lovely staff. This hotel is a stone throw away from the Spanish steps and a few steps from all the shops! We had two rooms and both were wonderfully appointed. Very clean and fresh. All rooms were renovated a year ago. The staff here are wonderful and very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend the hotel to anyone. Lots of wonderful restaurants all in walking distance. If you’re thinking of booking then do it!!!

Nice hotel and very well situated in the center of the city. Very close to the spanish stairs and all the shopping streets fo Roma. But very noicy with small standard rooms. Only Junior suites are ok, but too expensive. Breakfast is poor, service ok for our opinion the rating for 5 stars is too high
