The room is beautifully designed with advanced built in technology such as diffused oxygen supply and floor heating, with a great direct view to the snowy mountains. There are many home stays nearby that offers the same Mountain View. We paid a premium to stay here, not only for the Mountain View, but also for the supposed services and daily activities that the hotel advertised on social media. Unfortunately the service level is almost non existent, the breakfast area is easily overpacked. The staffs even asked me to share a four people table with a couple during breakfast. I am not paying USD500 per night so I can share a dining table with strangers with no privacy. We joined the sound healing experience which was held at 9pm (on the contrary to most other sound healing experiences I had, which is usually in the morning). The sound healing experience was held in the meditation room, which is located right above the Bar. Naturally, during the sound healing experience I heard mostly loud speakers playing APT and other loud music, with some light bowl singing sound. The dinner was the worst I have had during my 9 days trip in Yunnan. The afternoon tea on level 5 (Bar area) was strangely arranged with all guests cramped next to each other and hunched over the low table where snacks are placed. The hotel claims to have the top hotel room design and provides top end appliances in all the rooms, including HERMES toiletries, a B&O speaker, and Dyson hairdryer. The staffs introduced the room with great enthusiasm and pride on the small design details. Although, after 2nights in the hotel, I left feeling the hotel is nothing but an empty shell with no soul. I will not come back to this hotel again

My husband and I had such a relaxing stay at this hotel. It’s outside the city, which was perfect for us—quiet, serene, and away from the hustle. But heads up: if you’re planning to shop often in Dukezong, this might be a bit far for you. For us though, the peace and quiet were exactly what we needed! Wish we had more time in Shangrila. One of the highlights: Bonfire nights with marshmallows! We missed the fireworks, but sitting around the fire, singing with other guests was so much fun. Such a unique and heartwarming experience! Shoutout to the driver and butler — they were super responsive, from pickups to making sure everything ran smoothly. Breakfast was delicious, great way to start the day. The hotel animals were adorable! I’ve never been this close to a deer before—such a cool little surprise. Will definitely come back here again.

My stay in Shangri-La was truly memorable, thanks to the incredible hospitality of the hotel. Upon arriving at the train station, I couldn’t get a taxi, so I sent a quick message to the hotel via WeChat. To my surprise and relief, the staff immediately offered to come pick me up. It was a short ride, but during the drive, they shared interesting insights about the area, setting the tone for what would be a warm and personal stay. The hotel itself felt cozy and welcoming, with two dogs and a cat adding to the homely charm. They had my room ready early, so I could check in and rest right away. The room was spacious, fully equipped, and thoughtfully prepared for the cold weather—it had a large dehumidifier and central floor heating, which made it incredibly comfortable during the chilly days. The hotel is conveniently located near the Shika Snow Mountain, and from the property, I could catch glimpses of the snowy peaks, open grasslands, farms, and plantations. It was a peaceful and scenic spot—an ideal base for exploring the area. What stood out most was the attentiveness of the staff. They were always just a message away, responding promptly to every request. As a first-time visitor to Shangri-La, I appreciated the wealth of local recommendations they provided—from attractions to hidden spots worth visiting. One night, after a long day out, I asked for a simple meal in the room, and they delivered hot fried rice from the kitchen right on time. On my final morning, I had an early departure, and despite the hour, the staff woke up and personally drove me to the train station at 6:30 a.m. Their warmth and dedication left a lasting impression. The hotel also offers traditional ******* clothing that guests can try on for photos—complete with the option to pose with a goat! Although it was too cold during my stay to enjoy the outdoor swing or take many photos outside, the setting was undeniably beautiful. As we drove away on my last day, the view of flat grasslands with horses and cows grazing under the open sky was the perfect farewell. It was a calm, heartwarming experience—one I’ll remember fondly.

The location of this property is very good, walking distance to most attractions. The rooms are big & some with views. This place is fairly new and run by a young couple with 1 other cleaner. The owner is very helpful, great resources for any information or booking you need. Somehow it lacks the personal touch, warmth & standard of other homestay that I have been to. It feels like “ 1 time stay” kind of place, not up to par for international tourists. The quality of the toiletries & amenities does not match the kind of price you pay for the room. Definitely over priced for what you get.

We had an incredible stay at this hotel! The owner went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. He picked us up from the bus station. The room was excellent, featuring a stunning mountain view and everything we needed for a pleasant stay. We also had dinner at the hotel, and the food was absolutely delicious. What truly stood out was the owner's kindness and exceptional service. He not only helped us during our stay but also dropped us off at our next hotel in the old town and even waited to ensure we reached our next travel point. This level of care was beyond our expectations. We would not hesitate to stay here again if we return. Highly recommend.
